Mrs. Robert R. Martin (Sheila M. Parker)The double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend David Asel. Mrs. Margaret Harris was the organist. Soloist was Joy Parker who sang "Wither Thou Goest" and "Each For The Other." The church was decorated with baskets of yellow and white mums.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. Her gown was of chantilly type lace and imported rayon organza, trimmed with seed pearls and sequins, with a scalloped neckline and cuffs, a detachable train and elbow length veil. She carried a cascade of red roses.
Serving as maid of honor was Miss Martha Guerrette. She wore an aqua gown of acetate taffeta and chiffon with an empire waist. Her headpiece was a dark green velvet streamer bow. She carried a long stemmed yellow rose. Bridesmaids were Susan Drost and Donna Martin. They wore yellow gowns identical to the maid of honor's.
The groom's attendant was Al Capadiffero. Ushers were Bruce Parker and Roger Gagnon.
The bride's mother wore a blue dress in rayon and silk with a lace coat. A corsage of pink carnations complimented her ensemble.
The groom's mother wore a light blue dress and navy blue coat ensemble with a corsage of pink carnations.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church dining room, which was decorated with Easter lillies. Serving were: Phyllis Allen, Ann Splaine, Dot Churchill, Shirley Churchill, Lila Martin and Amy Grant. Janet Parker circulated the guest book. Cathy Johnson, Sandy Babic and Karyl Smith
were in charge of the gift table.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School and attended Burdette College in Boston, Mass.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Washburn High School and is employed at Pratt and Whitney in Southington, Conn.
After a wedding trip the couple will reside in Hartford, Conn.
