Miss Charette Weds David M. Nichols

Miss Camile Elizabeth Charette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Camille Charette of Washburn, became the bride of David Michael Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Day of Wade, on February 22 [1972] at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Washburn. The Rev. John Audibert of Caribou officiated at the double ring ceremony. Sister Claire of Holy Rosary Church was organist and accompanied the solosit, [spelling error in newspaper] Mrs. Anita Boyce, who sang "Each For The Other."

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length, empire and A-line lace gown featuring a Watteau train. Her bouffant elbow length veil of two tiers of silk illusion fell from a pearl crown. She carried a spring bouquet of pink sweetheart roses, yellow poms and daisies.

Miss Cathy Charette of Washburn, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of white dotted swiss over yellow with a matching head-dress and carried a single talisman rose with yellow streamers.

Miss Lois Bragg of Washburn was bridesmaid and was attired in a gown of white dotted swiss over peach with matching headdress. She carried a single talisman rose with peach streamers.

Bill Nichols of Washburn, brother of the groom, served as best man. James Charette of Washburn, brother of the bride, was usher.

Mrs. Charette chose a dark lavender ensemble complemented with a corsage of dark pink sweetheart roses.

Mrs. Nichols, mother of the bridegroom, wore a beige ensemble complemented with a corsage of talisman sweetheart roses.

After the ceremony, a reception was held in the church hall. Mrs. Rhoda Ireland had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Sharon Corey had charge of the gift table.

The wedding cake was cut and served by the maid of honor and the bridesmaid. Mrs. Dianne Young, sister of the bride, dipped punch. Mrs. Frieda Dickinson and Mrs. Cindy Charette, sisters of the bride. Assisted in serving.

After a trip to Quebec City, the couple will reside in Washburn.

The bride is a 1971 graduate of Washburn District High School.

She is employed by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service in Presque Isle.

The groom is a 1970 graduate of Washburn District High School and is employed by Northwood Products of Presque Isle.
