Fathers Of Bridal Couple Unite Them In Marriage

Miss Lillian Elaine Richardson of Norwich, Conn. became the bride of Stephen Brian Sparks of West Boylston. Mass, formerly of Washburn, in a double-ring, candlelight ceremony in the First Portugese Baptist Church of Tauton, Mass., Oct. 7 [1972]. The Rev. Alton Richardson and Rev. Lloyd Sparks, fathers of the bridal couple, officiated at the afternoon rite. Rev. Richardson pastor at the Norwich Assembly of God.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Gladys E. Richardson of Norwich, while the bridegroom's parents, Rev. Lloyd Sparks and Mrs. Kathryn Sparks, reside in West Boylston.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Sally Wallace skirt covered with lace and tiny gold bows. Her fingertip veil was held by a Romantic Era headpiece and she carried a cascade of white stefanotis intertwined with gold and orange roses.

Her maid of honor was her sister, Faith Ann Richardson of Norwich. Other attendants were Mrs. Peggy Day of Walpole, Mass., Miss Patricia Richenrfer of Old Town, Md., Miss Candace Sparks, sister of the bridegroom, of West Boylston, Mass., Miss Rachel Skorstad, sister of the bridegroom, of Bergenfield, N.J., Janice Catchpole of St. Thomas Ont., Mrs. Kathy Burke of Forestdale, Mass., and little Miss Kelly Whittemore of Taunton, Mass., flower girl.

The attendants wore gowns with brown velvet bodices, orange sashes and chiffon print skirts of orange, gold and brown.

They carried baskets of fall flowers, orange and gold pompons with matching ribbons.

David Sparks was his brother's best man. Other attendants were John Bradley of Milford, Conn., Charles Day of Walpole, Mass., Daniel Carver of Patten, Me., Stephen Richardson, a cousin of Hyannis, Mass., Terry King of Hagerstown, Md., Charles Swartwood of Portland, Me. and Gary Beesley of Oshawa, Ont., Gordon Dahlstrom was head usher, while Master David Fisher carried the rings.

At a reception at Hearthstone Inn in Seekonk, Mass., Miss Arlene Vikse of Brooklyn, N.Y., was hostess, while Richard Delrio of Staten Island, N.Y., was host. Miss Sharon Tedesco of Erie, Pa. was guest book hostess.

The bride wore a two piece double-knit brown suit with creme trim and matching accessories for her wedding trip to Vermont.

The bride graduated in 1969 from Taunton High School in Massachusetts and in 1972 from Zion Bible Institute of East Providence, R.I. She is employed as receptionist secretary by Dr. Peter J. Rosenberg of Norwich.

The bridegroom graduated in 1969 from Washburn High School and from Zion Bible Institute in 1972. He is a minister of youth and an assistant pastor.
