Glassgow-Brown Wedding Performed

WASHBURN -- United in marriage with a candlelight ceremony Saturday evening, July 14 [1973], were Londa Yvonne Glassgow and Eugene B. Brown Jr. Tbe Rev. Melvin Geiman, pastor, performed the double-ring ceremony in the Fourth United Methodist Church, York, Pa.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Glassgow, 2133 East Philadelphia Street, are the bride's parents. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene B. Brown Sr., Washburn.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a candlelight crepe gown made for her by her maid of honor. The empire waist was accented with lace and featured a full sweep chapel-length train. A Juliet cap held her shoulder-length veil of illusion. She carried a white Bible with ivory and pink roses, ivy and gyspophila.

Nancy Sutton, Greenville, S.C., was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Louanne Glassgow, the bride's sister, and Sheila Turner, niece of the bridegroom. Marcie Lavway and Gregory Sponberg were flower girl and ring bearer.

E. B. Brown Sr. was best man for his son. Ushers were Clayton Blackstone, Larry Turner, Daryl Spooberg, David Lavway, all from Washburn and brothers-in-law of the bridegroom.

After a reception in the church social hall Mr. and Mrs. Brown left on a Maine honeymoon: They will reside at C-12 Kampus Kort in Greenville.

The bride graduated in 1969 from Yourl Suburban High School and in 1973 from Bob Jones University, where she will teach English in the fall. Her husband, a 1969 graduate of Washburn High School, is a student at Bob Jones where he is majoring in social studies.
