Lois Bragg, James Goodine Ceremony

WASHBURN -- Miss Lois Jennie Bragg and James L. Goodine exchanged marriage vows Jan. 6 [1973] before the Rev. Read Blackstone and assembled friends and relatives at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church.

Parents of the couple include Mr. and Mrs. Alton Bragg of Wade and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goodine of Washburn.

Given in marriage by her brother, Carroll A. Bragg Sr., the bride wore an Alencon lace, empire waist A-line gown with attached chapel-length train. The gown featured bishop sleeves, high neckline with a pinafore effect bodice and a flounce at the hemline. Her double-tiered silk illusion veil was attached to a pearl crown. The bridal bouquet consisted of an assortment of carnations and poppies with white streamers.

The bride's attendants included Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) DuMont, Wade, her sister, as matron of honor; Miss Waunita Bragg, Wade, sister and bridesmaid; Miss Dawn Goodine, flower girl.

Attendants for the bridegroom were: Steven Goodine, best man; Paul DuMont and Merle Bragg Sr., ushers; Robert Goodine, ring bearer.

A reception following the double-ring ceremony was held at the Community Hall in Mapleton with Misses Rosalie and Natalie Clark, nieces of the bride, serving the cake.

Tending the punch were Mrs. Neil (Trudy) Clark, sister of the bride, and Miss Rosalie Clark.

Mrs. Carroll (Natalia) Bragg, sister-in-law of the bride, circulated the guest book while tending the gift table were Mrs. Merle (Linda) Bragg (sister-in-law of the bride), Mrs. Leigh Thompson, Mrs. Gary Thompson and Mrs. Stephen Goodine.

The couple's wedding trip included a four-day visit in the Bangor area with relatives of the bride. Her traveling ensemble consisted of a dark green suit with mint green trim and black fashion boots.

Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Levasseur and Cindy of Houlton.
