Phyllis, Thank you for your efforts in recording Washburn's history. It has provided many items of interest and hours of pleasure. I was one of those kids who used to tease Herbie Inman and then run as he tried to hit us with his slingshot! During my years of elem ntary school, I lived on the Plissey farm on the Tabor Road where my father worked for Arthur Plissey. His son Verle (who still lives on the Tabor Road) and I have been lifelong friends since the age of 5. He is coming to visit me in February. He and I an Rodney Drake, who lives here in Florida also, will get together yet again. We are currently making plans for our 50th high school reunion in 2002. I just retired after 43 years in the Palm Beach County School System (the last 25 years as principal). I am in the Guinness Book of World Records as conducting the world's largest field trip. Next week I will be taking 4,400 10-year-olds to Washington D.C. for 5 days. Although retired, I still conduct the trip for Palm Beach County Safety Patrol children. I wil be visiting this web site often. I maintain email contact with two of my classmates (we were together from grade 1 through graduationI)in the Washburn area. Thank you again for this great site!
