Welcome to the Llama-palooza!
Hi, I'm the High Llama, and welcome to the lovely Llama-palooza!  Here we have some fun facts and pictures of llamas, like me!
Isn't he cute?
Did you know...

That llamas are related to camels?
Yup.  Llamas are part of the camelid family.  The four members are llamas, alpacas, guanacos, and vicunas.  They're the North and South American versions of camels.

That llamas can be used for more than just wool?
Yup.  They're also used as pack animals (they can carry up to a third of their body weight...and they weigh between 300 and 450 lb), guard animals, and, surprisingly, golf caddies.

That llamas don't normally spit out of spite?

They don't.  It's more of a warning to other llamas that the offender is in the spitter's personal space.  They don't normally spit at humans, so any visitors to a petting zoo should be ok.

Thanks to Llamaweb, where I got this info and a lot of these pictures from!
Oh yeah, and if you see a llama doing this in your general direction, back off.  It means they're getting ready to spit.  Not happy stuff.
