All began in the year 1998. Pierre-Luc Simon (drums) and Christian Bonneau (bass), which were already playing together, teamed up with Louis-Philippe Leroux (guitar) and Jean-Michel Bourbonnais (vocals). The four "musicians" formed a punk rock band "The Piggybanks". After a few months of practice, "The Piggybanks" gave their first concert in the Collège l'Assomption's Old Chapel. The songs played were Bro Hymn Tribute by Pennywise, All I Want by The Offspring, Murder the Government by NoFX, Good Little Boy (own creation) and Roboto le Robot. Although some wrong notes, the show was liked by everybody. But Jean-Michel announced later that year that he was leaving the band. A last gig was performed in a basement that marked the leaving of J-M and the band's separation. It was the end of "The Piggybanks"...

The next year, the band came back together with same members, but punk rock music and "The Piggybanks" were something of past... Metal music emerged! Early in the school year, songs like Blind by Korn, Le P'tit Poisson by B.A.R.F and other creations were played by the band still nameless. A concert in the Old Chapel was scheduled, but the school's principal cancelled the show. Later taht year, a new guitarist joined the band: Benoît Landreville. Waste Land was created!

What hold the futur for Waste Land? Who knows? Awesome shows that's for sure!
