This Photo was taken in Marblehead, Mass. in a house durring a seance where a mother had killed her children and then committed suicide. The seance lead by John Spence was conducted when the resident felt a ghostly presence influencing her to hurt her own children. In the photo you can see a headless woman in a black dress with a white bow and a few shadowy figures which appear to be possibly children.

This photo was taken in the late 1860's. It shows the faint image of a woman's face above the lady in the photo. It was taken by a spirit photographer in the years sometime durring the birth of spiritualism.
