Koji gets mad and leaves the forest along with JP to stop Takuya from destroying everything. Tommy has a flashback of kids trying to beat him up and him running away. Tommy runs up to Takuya and tries to stop him. Takuya grabs Tommy but Tommy reminds him of what happened when he was hit with Nightmare Syndrome. Tommy sheds a tear which ends up getting Takuya out of the daze that the new Spirit has put him into. He starts beating himself against a rock and then de-spirit evolves. The kids talk about how they need to find Grumblemon but they will just run into him anyway since that's how it always happens. While in the forest they find a bunch of roots they lead too X's and a circle. They race along the 'maze' everyone except Tommy and Takuya land on a X. Everyone that's on a X falls into a big hole where Tommy and Takuya throw them a rope. Grumblemon comes up behind Takuya and demands his Spirits. Grumblemon Slide Evolves into Gigasmon and Takuya Spirit Evolves into Agunimon. Gigasmon captures Tommy and he hides in the trees where Takuya can't find him and ends up getting knocked out of the trees. The kids stuck in the hole tell Takuya he must Spirit Evolve into BurningGreymon. He does and ends up knocking Gigasmon into a tree. Takuya realizes he can't use his attacks without catching the forest on fire so he Slide Evolves into Agunimon and runs out into an empty wasteland. Gigasmon follows and uses Tectanic Slam causing the ground to break away except where he is but the attack doesn't reach where Takuya is. Takuya Spirit Evolves back into BurningGreymon and uses Wildfire Tsunami to knock Gigasmon out which also causes him to return to Grumblemon. The kids run up as Takuya takes Tommy's Spirit from Grumblemon. Tommy now has his Spirit back but as Takuya goes for Zoe's, Grumblemon goes underground where he meets with Ranamon, Mercuremon and Arbormon.
