Koji and Takuya start making the fire and talk about why Grumblemon was able to defeat them. Tommy notices a large tree and all of the trees suddenly turn into televisions that show the real world. Tommy sees the park where his mom use to take him to play and sees his mom. The televisions go out and Tommy becomes upset. The gang tries to comfort him. A digimon sneaks up behind Tommy and uses Nightmare Syndrome on him. Everyone except JP and Takuya go to sleep. They are talking when Takuya hears something in the trees. Tommy starts to have a nightmare in which the other kids are forcing him to grow up and leave his mom behind. When he wakes up he turns against the other kids and Spirit Evolves to Kumamon and starts attacking them. The other kids decide it's best not to digivolve cause they don't want to hurt Tommy. Koji Spirit Evolves to block Kumamon's attacks. Takuya also Spirit Evolves and goes on the hunt for the creature he heard. He finds it and it turns out to be Bakumon. Bokomon explains that it must have been turned evil by Cherubimon when he removed the creature's ring. Takuya is hit by Nightmare Syndrome but is able to escape the nightmare by saying it isn't real. Takuya uses his D-Tector on the Digimon, giving it it's ring back. Tommy comes out of his daze but dosn't remember anything that happened.
