Slim thinks she has found the perfect man. They get married and have a little girl. She finds out he is having an affair and he starts to beat her. Slim runs away with her daughter and they change their names so he won't find them and kill them. The story reminds me of that Julia Roberts movie "Sleeping With The Enemy". The story isn't too bad and there is a fair amount of time spent on character development which is nice and puts some emotion into the story.
Jennifer Lopez stars and while she is good in most of her other movies, she just isn't that good here. Billy Campbell, Juliette Lewis and Noah Wyle also star in the movie and give decent performances. Oddly enough, the best actor in the movie is the little girl, her voice sounds perfect for the role and while she doesn't have a lot of lines, she does deliver them quite well.
The writing isn't great but it works well enough. The directing is okay but there are a lot of scenes that could have been done better. The whole finale was a little weak since the training sessions play exactly like the final. I als didn't care for the words that appeared whenever something new happened like 'How they met" and stuff like that, it kinda takes aay from the movie.
The movie has it's flaws but it is mildly entertaining and you really can't expect anything else from a movie like this. Some of the cars are really enjoyable but cliches kinda ruin them, like the car chase sene.
