Wolverine continues his search for his past in a lab somewhere in Canada. He finds it abandoned, so he returns to the mansion just in time to babysit the students as Storm and Jean leave to find a mutant who recently attacked the president and Prof. X and Cyclopse leave to pay Magneto a visit in his prison. Little do they know that a man named Stryker is about to attack the school and steal Cerebo so he can destroy all the mutants in the world. The plot is more devloped this time around and with only a few more new characters, all the characters get a decent ammoutn of screen time expanding their personalities from the first film. The plot is so much better this time and it clearly hints at what the third film will be about.

The whole cast from the first film that lived through the first film returns for this time around and they all give good performances. The new characters are played well. I enjoyed Kelly Hu's performances as Lady Death Strike even if she only had 2 lines or something.

The script this time around doesn't try as hard to be humorous but still provides some laughs. The dialog seems real and I enjoyed the speeches in the film. Bryan Singer does a fantastic job directing. The movie flows at a decent pace and since this one is over 40 minutes longer than the first, this is a good thing. The special effects have been upgraded and it all looks good. Battle scenes are great, I personally loved the Wolverine VS Lady Death Strike battle as it was one of the better ones.

I went into the film with very high expectations and left with no disappointments. X2 improves on the original in every way possible and still doesn't lose anything. This one also has a number of deatsh in it and I've heard a few people say that they wish it didn't have so much killing but I felt that it was needed for this movie as it is a war between man and mutants.
