Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

John was given a reed to measure the temple, the altar, and them that worship in the temple.

Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles:

John is told by the angel not to include the court that is on the outside of the temple, because it is given to the heathens (when you see the word "gentiles" it means anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus, it isn't a race it is a belief.):

Revelation 11:2 "and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months."

The holy city will be puliverised for forty and two months, by those that are not christians. (you can look at the number forty and two in biblical numerics and it will explain this statement to you. The number forty stands for "trials, probation, and testing". So the "holy city" will be tested, put through tribulation, and put on probation. Two stands for "union, division, witnessing". During that time people will be brought together, divided or just witnessing for the Lord.)

Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

As you can see the number two and witnessing is used in this verse. Now these servants that will be witnessing at this time of the gentiles, will have a certain amount of time to do their work. Another thing to notice is that when The Lord is talking about the "evil things", he uses "months", when he is talking about the "good things" he uses "days". These two "times" are the same, just one is what the "evil" will be doing, the other is what the"good" will be doing. "Clothed in sackcloth", this is telling you that they will be in mourning for what they see around them. I have added some verse here that talk about what will happen during that time, why it is happening and who is allowing it to happen and why.

Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. (Jacob will go into all nations and think they are those nations, but they are not they are truly the lost ten tribes of Israel.) Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. (The Father did this so that other races could become christian.) Isa 5:5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down: (The Lord has taken away their protection) 6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. (The Lord will allow "false ideas and things of the world" to grow within the "churches" and they will not receive the "truth of the Word".) 7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry. ( The reason the Lord is allowing this to happen to the "churches" is because of what they are doing. They are suppose to be following his Word and doing what he told them to do, but instead they are telling their "church members" what they think they should be doing.) As it is written; Ezek 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! (They think they are doing God's will, but they are only listening to themselves.) Ezek 13:4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.(The Father is being very graphic here, about the people in charge of the "churches", he is calling them "foxes in the deserts". These "foxes" devour the bodies of the dead, and even dig them up from their graves. ) 5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD. (Their job is to prepare christians to stand against satan and his army when he gets here. But they have not done that.) 6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. (These leaders of the churches say the Lord told me to tell you this or to do that. Like let us "fix the world". This is not our job, this world as we know it will be destroyed, so why try to fix it.) Ezek 13:17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, Ezek 13:19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? Ezek 13:22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: As you can see they are not doing what the Father wants, they are doing what they want. They are telling people you are "saved" and those people are not saved. Lam 1:15 The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress. 16 For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed. 17 Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them. 18 The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity. (This is the reason why the Lord is allowing his "churches" to be punished.) In His Service
