Subj: Revelation 13:7 Date: 98-07-27 08:25:20 EDT From: SERVFATHERRevelation 13:7 "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:"
Satan was given the ability to fight with the christians. Satan was also given the ability to conquer the christians. (This is something to think about. Satan has the ability, but the Lord has given us everything we need to overcome Satan. The point is if we do not use everything that the Father has given to us, then we might be overcome.) Let us take another look at the same thing, but this time it is giving us some more information. People do not know that the same chapter and verse in the bible are connected, in alot of places. Each place gives more information. We can see that Mark 13:7 is talking about the trouble that will happen, but I am sure most of us read it to mean something else. In Mark 13:4, they ask Jesus two questions. One question is when will these things happen? Jesus answers them and says "in the end", this means the end of this earth age, which is also what Revelation is written for, and Paul writes that everything that happened to them in the old testament was for our benifit, those who would see the end. 1 Cor 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. (When death is gone, then we will have the eternity, where there is no end) Paul goes onto to say in Corinthians that Israel had the Lord, they had the Word, they had everything that a christian has and some of them still fell. That means christians can fall, so beware of what your doing. Paul goes into detail of what not to do as it is written. 1 Cor 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idoliters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the end of the worlds are come. (See Paul says all this was written for us to learn from.) 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (Paul also says don't think your all set and you don't have to worry, because if you don't watch out you will fall. Then you will be ashamed.) 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (This word "tempted" means test, will you pass the test of the Lord? You will if you stay in the Word.) So we know Jesus is talking about the end of the world as we know it. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking this is talking about something that happened in 70ad. The reason we know it is not, is because there is still apart of the wall left to this day. This is going to tell us about the time of Antichrist. The second question they asked was "what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?" Or in other words, how will we know when everything is finished? Mark 13:4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: (Jesus said the first thing to remember is to watch out and keep on your toes, so that you will not be fooled by Satan.) 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (Jesus says there will be many people tricked into believing Satan's lies. This is christians remember. Non-christians wouldn't even listen. 7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. (This word "wars" is the same word used in Revelation 13:7. Jesus is talking about spiritual wars, that will be going on at that time. Satan will be brow beating christians into believing him. Don't worry about it, stay in the Word and you will notfall to Satan's lies. Jesus says the end is not yet.) Then Jesus goes onto give more signs. We will study that in the next study. Now we are going to go into Daniel again and see what it says about overcoming the Christians. Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; (Satan will spiritually fight with the christians and he will be able to overcome them, if they allow it. See both books say the same thing, they are talking about the same time.) 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. (Satan will only be able to do this until Jesus returns and the christians set up the judgment seats with him. As it is written in the book of Revelation. Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (This tells us that christians will be here during this time, and they will pass the test, and they will not follow Satan's lies.) Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (Christians will judge when Jesus returns.) Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (Everyone on earth will see Jesus when he returns and they will know they were fooled by Satan, they will be upset.) 1 Cor 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (This lets you know a saint is a christian, don't let anyone fool you into thinking they are not the same. The Lord's people are christians, not anyone else but.) The one thing you have to remember is the Lord is no fool. There are alot of people that think that, because of what they do. If you say you are a christian, and you do not follow the Word or do what the Father wants, then you are not a christian. Just because you think you are doing what the Father wants, does not mean your a christian. When Jesus returns, the Word says he will turn people away who thought they were doing christian things and that they were a christian. Just because you do what you church tells you, does not mean you are doing what The Lord wants as it is written. Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (See what Jesus said here, just because you claim Jesus does not matter. You have to do what the Father wants, and how you find that is in the Word.) 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (People will come to him and say, didn't we tell people you were coming, and didn't get rid of devil's, and didn't we go around doing all kinds of things because we are christians? This people thought they were doing what the Father wanted, but let us see what Jesus will say to them.) 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Jesus will say, I never knew you, they were never christians, they only thought they were christians. Imagine what that will be like! Then Jesus will also say, get away from me, you people that did things against the Father.) 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: ( Jesus then tells us what we need to do, to make sure we are not with that group. It is simple, know what the Word says and do it. If you read the Word and don't follow it, you are not a christian.. And you will not be able to say, "my church told me to do that", that will not be an excuse. The house is yourself, and the Rock is the Word. If you know the Word and follow it, you will have no problem.) Jesus tells us in another place, the same thing, but in a different way. Christians are virgins waiting for their husband. There are christians that think they are going to get married, but they will not. Matt 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. (Jesus says keep on your toes, and do what you are suppose to, because you never know when he will return.) Jesus tells us in another way, what not to do. Matt 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. (Jesus is saying to those that have the Word, yet do not use it or follow it will be with all the others in the world. They are considered useless to the Father. If you do not do anything for the Lord, then you will be cut off.) 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Everyone in the world we be seperated when Jesus returns. What side will you be on? There is no excuses, are you doing what the Father wants. Remember the Father is only concerned with spiritual things, not flesh things. So if you are doing all kinds of good flesh things, they will burn up in the fire. Spiritual things will last. In His Service Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
