Subj: Reve 13:10 Date: 98-08-09 08:44:47 EDT From: SERVFATHERRevelation 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
This verse is telling the servants of God to wait for the return of Jesus. It is saying if anyone leads anyone to worship Satan, they will also worship Satan. if anyone lies to cause someone to spiritually die, they will also spiriutally die from their own lies. The Lord is saying to his servants do not worry about it, everyone will get what they have coming to them. The Lord is now going to show us something else that will be happening at that time.
Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
John saw a second beast coming up from the earth. This beast is a religious system of the world. It appeared to do God's work, but it's words belong to Satan.
Revelation 13:12
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
The religious system had control over the whole world just like the political system does of the first beast. This religious system will solve a problem that the political system had and stops the deadly wound. (So from this we know the deadly would will be a political wound.) So the people of the world now worship the world government, because it will be made "perfect". (everybody gets everything they need, no problems in the world any more.)
Revelation 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
The religious system will have supernatural powers, and will be able to do great miracles, everyone on earth will be able to see the great powers of this system.
Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Because they can do these supernatural wonders the people of the earth will be decived by them. Then they will be told that this world government is really what God wants, so let us make a symbol for our world government. The religious system will say that God saved the world government from being destroyed by a sword.
Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
The religious system was given the power to give spirit to the symbol of the political system and the symbol "spoke" of the political system. And the political system had the ability to "kill" (by brow beating), anyone who did not go along with the political system. (Very simple if you go against Satan and his people, they will come around you and say waht is wrong with you? We have saved the world and all the people are happy....or things like that. How could you fight that?) Paul tells us about this in the book of Thessalonians. It is very important for us to understand christians will be here when the antichrist is ruling the world. The word "antichrist" is made up of two words in the greek. One word means "the annointed one", the other word means "opposite" and it also means "instead of". So the antichrist will not only be opposing the things of the Lord, but he will be pretending to be the annointed one. How else would he get most christians to follow him. He is going to be very "religious". Let us take a look at the book of 2 Thessalonians. II Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, (Paul is saying listen to me I beg of you about two things. One is the return of Jesus. The other is our gathering back to him.) 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. (Do not let anyone confuse you , do not worry about it. It does not matter who tells you what. If a spirit tells you or if you hear it, not even in the letters we write to you, about Jesus is here.) 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (Paul says do not let anyone trick you in any way, because Jesus will not return until two things happen. One is the "falling away", this word in the greek is apostasy. 646 apostasia (ap-os-tas-ee'-ah); defection from truth (properly, the state) ["apostasy"]: Which means that there will be "christians" who leave the true Word to follow Satan. The second thing that will happen is "the man of sin" will be here. This is satan or in other words "the Antichrist". What will satan be doing during his time on earth. Paul tells us in the next verses. 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (Satan will be going against everything that the Lord wants, and he will be putting himself above everything that is worshipped, by anyone. So that everyone in the world will think he is God and he will be in the temple of God pretending to be God.) 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? (Paul says to them don't you remember that I told you all about this, when I was with you?) 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (Then Paul says now you know what we are waiting for. The Antichrist to show up and the "christians" and the rest of the world to follow his truth instead of the Word. ) So don't let anyone tell you we are going to be gone before the tribulation, because we will not. Anyone that thinks they will be gone, will be deceived by Satan when he gets here. Stop listening to what men say and start listening to the Word of God. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (Then Paul says that the World will find out how fake satan was, when Jesus really does show up) Now we know Satan will be given the ability to fool the world into thinking he is Jesus. Will you be fooled by him? If you know the Word you will not. It is very easy to know, because it is written. First of all the word "tribulation" means to test, the people of the world will be tested and so will you and me. The second thing to remember is Jesus words and no one will be able to fool you. That if someone has to tell you Jesus has returned, then Jesus has not returned. Matt 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Mark 13:21-27 21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: 22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. 24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, (this tells you that Jesus will not return until after Satan has tested the people of the World, then Jesus will gather his church.) 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
