Subj: Revelation 14:1 Date: 98-08-23 08:39:14 EDT From: SERVFATHER Now the next chapter is going to give us another picture. This is going to tell us about Jesus after he returns what will happen on earth. Let us study Jesus return to earth.
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
When Jesus returns he will be the lamb of God and he will appear at Mt. Zion in Jerusalem. The saints will be with him, these are the ones that were sealed with the Word of God in their minds. You have to read this verse very carefully, or you will miss something very important. John is seeing a picture of Jesus as the Lamb and he is at Mt Zion and the 144,000 are with him. This verse does not say that Jesus brings the 144,000 from heaven, it says that 144,000 will be with him in Mt. Zion. You have to understand as a followers of the way you will be here on earth with the antichrist and you will be tested. When Jesus returns he will have saints with him and then he will gather his saints from the earth, as it is written. Let us study the gathering of the saints. Matt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. The Word tells us, that Jesus will send his angels to gather his saints, from everywhere. It also tells you there will be a trumpet blast. Which Trumpet will this be, there are seven trumpets? Does the Word tell us? Thank the Father he does give us the answer, if we want to hear it. In 1 Corinthians it tells us it will be at the seventh trump, as it is written. 1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Then the Word tells us do not be fooled about gathering back to the Lord. Two things must happen before Jesus returns, one is the "followers of the ways" are going to turn away from the Truth in the Word, and the second thing is that Satan will appear on earth pretending he is God, as it is written. II Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Then the Word tells us, that when Jesus returns he will show the world how wicked Satan is, because they will all know that Jesus is the true one as it is written. II Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: In the Psalms it tells us that he will appear on earth and burn up everything that is evil and not true. Then he will judge his people, he will have them gathered to him. Ps 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah. We also find out that the Lord turned his back on his people for a little while, because he was angry at them. But he will gather them back and he they will get great mercies. This is talking about spiritual Israel, which is the church. Flesh Israel was just an example to us in the end. Do not let anyone fool you to think this is talking about flesh Israel of today. The Lord is mad at his church today, and we will find out why. Isa 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. There are followers of the ways in all the countries of the World today, and when Jesus returns he will gather all his church together. Then he will set teachers over them and the teachers will teach them the Word of God. Then the sheep of the church will not fear anymore, and they won't be confused and they will know the Word and have it available. If you read Jereimiah 23:1 you will see who the Lord is talking about. He says that the pastors of the church today are not doing their job, but when Jesus returns the people will be fed properly as it is written. Jer 23:3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. Then in another place the Lord says don't let them deceive you, they tell you they are from the Lord, that they are working for the Lord, but they are not. They teach you a bunch of lies. They tell you don't worry, you'll be gone. You don't have to understand the book of Revelation, it is not for you, you will not be here. If you read towrds then end of these verses the Lord will tell you what he is going to do, and it is all the plagues of the book of Revelation toward the people and he will allow it for a time to punish the people who listen to man instead of the Word of God. He sent the Word to the people he told them what to do, but they would not listen. Jer 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. 9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD. 10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. 15 Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon; 16 Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity; 17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. 18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: 19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD. The Lord tells us, that he brings all this upon his people, and he will also bring good upon them as soon as they are finished being punished. Jer 32:42 For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. Remember the Word of the Lord as it is written 1 Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
