Revelation 14:14
"And I looked, and behold a white cloud,"

John looked and the first thing he saw was a cloud of "light". Actually the word in Greek is the same word used for "Luke".

and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Then on the cloud John sees one like the son of man and he has a golden crown on his head (just like elders golden crown) and in his hand is a sharp sickle.

Now let us learn what a sickle is, then we will be able to understand this better. Let us read the Word and find out how it uses the word "sickle".

Deut 23:25
25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.

The sickle is used to harvest the crop of corn, when it has matured. The Lord says it is O.K. to take corn out of someone's field with your hands. But you are to leave the harvesting to the owner.

Mark 4:26-29
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Jesus explain here about the corn and how it grows, and to harvest the corn you use the sickle. What the sickle does, is cut down all the corn stalks. The corn is ready to harvest, you do not leave it, so it can grow anymore. It is fully matured and if you leave it, what will happen is that it gets very tuff to eat. It looses it's sweetness and good taste.

I thank the Father for his wisdom and understanding. You see I had a garden this year with corn. This was the first year I grew corn. I know what happens to corn when you leave it and do not pick it when it is ready. That is why I can explain it to you. I wondered why I didn't pick all the corn at once, and when I did go back for it, it was too late, the corn was not good for eating. It was only good for letting it completely dry out and then take the kernels for next years growing. Which I needed anyway. The amazing wisdom that the Father teaches us, using the earth!!

Revelation 14:15
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

This is the fourth angel John sees and this angel came out of the temple. He was speaking in a loud voice to the one on the cloud with the sickle. He told him to put his sickle on the earth to do the reaping, because it is time to harvest the earth.

Revelation 14:16
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

So the one that sat on the cloud sent his sickle on the earth and reap the earth. This talking about the "Corn" of the earth, which is the servants of God. They have matured enough and are ready to go through the harvesting of the earth. The next verses actually speak of the harvesting of the earth, which is a little different.
