Revelation 17:1
1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

One of the angels that had the seven vials, talked to John and said; Let me show you what is going to happen to the "great whore", who is sitting upon many waters. You have to remember to think spiritually, about the word "whore".

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

The "whore" has gotten the rulers of the earth "to join" her system and the people of the earth are "intoxicated" with her ways.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness:
and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast,
full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

Then he carried John away in the spirit into the wilderness. This is where the woman is, she is in the wilderness. The "whore" is in full power over all the earth, her names are against God. This system is made up of seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

The "whore" looks like royality, but she is committing idolitry.

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

She has the mark of the beast, which means she does the work of Satan and she has caused the whole world to go into confusion.

6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

John saw a "woman" intoxicated from the blood of the saints and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. John marveled at seeing her.

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

The angel asked me why do you marvel at seeing her? I will tell you what it all means, I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast supporting her, the one having the seven heads and ten horns.

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

The beast that you saw was around before, but right now is not here.
The beast will come out of the bottomless pit and after will perish.

The poeple who live on the earth during the time the beast is here shall not undertand about the beast, whose names were not written in the book of life before the overthrow of the world.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

Now the angel is going to tell those who have the wisdom of God what it all means. The seven heads are seven mountains, which means the whole world. That is where the woman sits. There is no place that she is not.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

And there are seven "rulers",this is talking about the differnet roles Satan has played, this is not talking about humans. Remember Revelation is spiritual.


Isa 14:12
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
(the world that was, before the overthrow,when Satan was good.)

Rev 12:9
9 And the great dragon was cast out,
(what Lucifer did to cause the overthrow)

that old serpent,
(the first thing he did in the flesh age, after the overthrow)

called the Devil, and Satan,
(this is what we call him today)

Matt 4:1
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

The devil is going to try to tempt us, while we are in the wilderness, just as he did Jesus.

Eph 6:11
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

How did Jesus overcome him during the temptation? It was through the Word of God, which is what we need to know.

Revelation 12:9 ...which deceiveth the whole world:
(this is what he did, which will deceive the whole world system)

he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
(we know Satan is not here yet with all his angels, but he will be thrown out of heaven soon.)

Rev 9:11
11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

(This is what "the beast" is now, he is "Abaddon" and "Apollyon", which means "a destroyer".)

Right now that is what he is doing destroying the people of the earth.


2 Cor 11:14-15
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

This is what he will be, when he is thrown out of heaven to the earth. He will come down as the "Antichrist", which means two things. One is "in the place of Christ or instead of Christ", the other is opposite of Christ. So as we read in 2 Corinthians, Satan will be thrown out of heaven and come down to earth and pretend to be Jesus and he will have his angels with him, also pretending to be followers of Jesus.

Gal 1:8
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

(We are warned in the Word, if anyone even an angel comes down and starts teaching things different from the Word, then he will be taken care of.
Now let us recap what we learned here. The five fallen are; Lucifer, the dragon, the old serpent, the devil, Satan. We have the one that is now; "Abbadon or Appolyon". We have the one that is going to come; the "angel of light or Antichrist".)

Revealtion 17:11
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

(here we are told that Satan is the beast, which means all of his roles, he has played. He has two to go, besides what he is doing now. After he plays out his last role, he will be thrown into the lake of fire.)

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

(The angel now tells us about the ten horns, which are rulers that Satan will set up on the earth once he is thrown out of heaven. They will rule during "the hour of temptation." You know the one mentioned in the "Our Father, and also in Revelation 3:10" .

The ten horns are mentioned also in the old testament.

Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

I know this is a long study and usually I would have broke it down into two or three parts, but the Lord led me to do it all at once. There is a reason why he wants us to finish this book up, let us leave everything in his hands and ask for wisdom and understanding, because there is nothing to fear. We all know we are going to be here during the time of the "antichrist", but we have learned over the last two years, what we need to do during that time.
