Revelation 2Revelation 2:33

AND HAST BORNE, AND HAST PATIENCE, AND FOR MY NAMES SAKE HAST LABOURED, AND HAS NOT FAINTED

Jesus knows this group of christians have cheerfully endured and have put up with things on account of his name, These people did things in weariness, but did not give into weariness.

They were trying to do what they thought was right. They did things for Jesus, they just didn't accept someones word, they watched to see if they acted like christians, If they didn't act like christians, they knew they were lying about being a christian,

They do not complain about people making fun of them. They keep working for God and they don't give up.

This is a pretty good bunch of people, but...

REVELATION 2:4

NEVERTHELESS I HAVE SOMEWHAT AGAINST THEE,

Evenso, Jesus says, they are doing something wrong. Jesus wants us to do everything he teaches us to do. We can't think as long as we are trying everything is o.k. We have to keep growing spirtiually.

These people have forgaotten something, they lost it on their way to the kingdom.

THAT YOU LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE.

They have forgotten about God the Father. They have forgotten about Jesus, the Living Word, this is our first love. Deuteronomy 7:7-9, Jermiah 2: 1&2, Ezekiel 16:6-13 read these verses and think spiritually concerning God's church, but they have forgotten what it is all about. Now they are just doing christian things, because that is what their "religion" tells them to do. They don't go to church to listen to what the Father wants, they go to church to listen to what man wants.

REVELATION 2:5

THEN REMEMBER FROM WHERE YOU HAVE FALLEN, AND REPENT, AND DO THE FIRST WORKS

When you first became a followers of the way, you studied the word. You told the Father you loved him, and thanked him for sending his son. You followed what they word told you to do. Now you don't do that, you follow what your "religion" tells you. Jesus is saying turn away from following traditions of man or rules of some church. Go back to reading the Word of God and seeing what your Father wants you to do, not what some "man" wants you to do.

REVELATION 2:5

OR ELSE I WILL COME UNTO THEE QUICKLY, AND WILL REMOVE THEY CANDLESTICK OUT OF HIS PLACE, EXCEPT

THOU REPENT.

The Greek says this; "and if not, I am coming quickly, and I will remove your lampstand from it's place, unless you repent." Jesus is saying if you do not do what I have told you to do, you will not be one of his servants when he returns.

Let us read a couple of places Jesus explains this.
