Revelation 2:18

AND UNTO THE ANGEL OF THE CHURCH IN THYATIRA WRITE;

Thyatira means burning incense. This city was another center of Apollo and Artemis worship. Christians surrounded by false religions and idol worship. Read Acts 16:14-21, this is something that will give you an insight into what they were like in this town.

THESE THINGS SAITH THE SON OF GOD, WHO HATH HIS EYES LIKE UNTO A FLAME OF FIRE,

The son of God whose eyes bum into your very soul, and see the real you. You won't pretend with Jesus.

AND HIS FEET ARE LIKE FINE BRASS;

Whose feet are solid metal and you can't stop them. They are prepared for treading down in judgment. Read Malachi chapter 4.

Revelation 2:19

I KNOW THY WORKS, AND CHARITY AND SERVICE AND FAITH AND THY PATIENCE, AND THY WORKS; AND THE LAST MORE THAN THE FIRST.

Jesus is saying I know what you are doing, I know about your love (charity is love in greek), I know your ministry, I know you have faith, I know you wait for me and the works you do, and those that came last do more than those that were first.

These people believe and they do things for they have love, and they are waiting for his return. They sound like great christians. Do you notice any mention of the word of God? Let us read what Jesus says about them.

Revelation 2:20

NOTWITHSTANDING I HAVE A FEW THINGS AGAINST THEE,

Jesus is not happy with them, they are doing something wrong.
