The Lord has told us what is going to happen, how it is going to happen, who it is going to happen to, what we are suppose to do, what the enemy is going to do.
He has told us everything we need to know to overcome Satan and his time on earth, because we will be here, the Christians are not going any place.
Jesus will return here, to set up the kingdom, so that is the reason the Father has shown us everything and told us everything we needed to know. All we have to do is follow what is written and we will overcome.
Let us get back to the book of Revelation, because the Lord is about to tell us about those that are not going to overcome and why they are not going to overcome.
Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
The ones that will go into the lake of fire with the second death, will be the ones that were afraid(that means they didn't trust the Father.) The ones that didn't believe the truth. The ones that were doing things against God. The ones that killed others spiritually. The ones that were working with Satan. The that were performing miracles, through Satan. The ones that worshipped others besides God. Anyone that is a liar.
Now that is pretty easy to understand, as long as you do not do any of those things you are all set. The one I think people will have the hardest time with, is the first one, which is fear.
Are you afraid of what Satan is going to do when he gets here, so you want to be gone. Well if you trust the Lord, then you would not be afraid, because you know that the Father is quite capable of protecting his own. We are going to be here, and if we follow the Word, Satan can not harm us.
The next thing John is going to be shown is what we have to look forward to, as overcomers. We will be joined with the Father, as one.
Revelation 21:9
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Now John is shown something, by not just any angel, but one of the angels that actually took care of the seven vials, which are the last seven punishments from the Lord. He told John he wanted to show him the Lamb's wife.
This verse also tells you that the seven vials had not been poured out yet, that is still future. You have to understand that Revelation goes from one time to another time to another time and you have to keep on your toes and pay attention to discover where you are in time. This angel had gone back to John in 70 AD to talk to him.
Revelation 21:10
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Then the angel took John in the spirit (which means John was in his flesh body, so he was back at his prison in 70 AD.) The angel brought John to a very powerful and high mountain (we know mountain is symbolic for a "governmental system.")
John was shown a great city, which is the "city of peace," and this city was coming down from heaven from The Father. That tells you this city will be a spiritual city, built by the Lord.
Revelation 21:11
Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
This spiritual city, will have the glory of God and will be precious and pure.
Revelation 21:12
And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
This pure and precious city, was protected on all sides with a wall that was big and tall. There were twelve ways to get into this city. At each of these entrances there was an angel. On each of these entrances there was a name written, which was one of the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Revelation 21:13
On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
There is still only four sides to this great city, but each side did have three entrances.
Revelation 21:14
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Now this wall was built on twelve leavels, and in each of the levels was the name of the twelve apostles.
Revelation 21:15
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
The angel that was telling John all of this, had a golden reed, so that the city of peace could be measured. Also that the gates and walls could be measured also.
Revelation 21:16
And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
So the city was measured, and it was a cube and equal on all sides, it is 12 thousand furlongs.
Revelation 21:17
And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
Now the wall is measured and it is 144,000 cubits. This verse also tells us that when the Father is talking about "man", spiritually he is speaking about the angels. In other words, man is angels in their spiritual bodies.
Revelation 21:18
And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
The walls were made with jaspar, which is precious, and the city itself is made with pure gold, so pure it is see through.
Revelation 21:19&20
And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
The foundations of the city of peace was made from the same stones as the priest garment had, as it is written in Ezekiel 28:17-21.
Revelation 21:21
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
Now the 12 entrances were made of pearls and the way of the city of peace was made of pure gold, so pure it was as glass.
Revelation 21:22
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
There was no place of worship in the city of peace, because the Father and Jesus are the place of worship.
Revelation 21:23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
We will not need a created light, because the glory of God did lighten the city of peace, The lamb is the light.
Revelation 21:24
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
There are different races that will be there, these are the ones that were true Christians, and they shall be in the light of this city. Each nation will have a ruler, which will have glory and honour.
Revelation 21:25
And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
The entrances to the city of peace will always be open, because there will be no darkness.
Revelation 21:26
And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
The rulers will bring honour and glory from their people to the city of peace.
Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
The only ones that will be allowed into the city of peace will be those that were written in the lambs book of life.
Now remember all of the things we just studied, is the wife of the lamb. So this is another example of the Lord using symbolism to explain things to us humans. He used the 12 tribes, the 12 apostles, and the 144,000 in the make up of this kingdom. Then there will also be the rest of the nations of the world, that will be there. The kingdom of God will be made up of all the true
followers of the ways, which the Lord will become one with for eternity.
