Rev 5:6
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
John's "eyes" were opened and he became aware of someone in the middle of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders. It was a lamb that was standing there, that had been slain.
This lamb had seven horns and seven eyes. Seven means spiritual perfection horn is a sign of power and eyes see. So this lamb had complete power and had saw everything. Which is the seven spirits of God that went to earth.
Rev 5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
John watched what happened, there was a questioned just asked about who could come and take the book that had the seven seals on it.
Jesus had just been slain and arrived at the throne and went and took the book from the Father who was on the throne.
Rev 5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
When he took the book, everyone at the throne fell down before him in respect. They all had a harp and a golden bowl that was full of incenses. These incenses are the prayers of the Father's servants.
Rev 5:9
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Those at the throne started to sing a new song. This new song was telling the story of what the lamb had done for those in the flesh.
The lamb is the only one worthy to open the sealed book, because he had been sacrificed so that everyone that lived in the flesh had a chance to get into the Kingdom of heaven.
Rev 5:10
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
The rest of the song talks about the future which is yet to happen. They are saying that because of what Jesus did they will reign in the Kingdom of heaven as either kings or priest, but they will be on earth when this happens.
That is very important to understand, this is not talking about reigning in heaven, it says on earth. This of course has not happen yet.
These people around the throne once lived in the flesh are now in heaven at the throne of God and will one day return to earth and reign with power, as it is written.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
It will happen during the thousand years when Jesus returns to earth. He will bring these with him and he will also have people on earth that will also join him. The ones on earth will not have to worry about the death of their souls.
Matt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Jesus will appear on earth and everyone will stand in front of his judgment seat and the servants of God will become apart of the Kingdom at that time.
This is just another place that the 1000 years is mentioned in the Word, it is the same event.
