Revelation 7:6
"Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand."
Manasses means "causing to forget". Manasses was not one of Jacob's sons, he was Jacob's grandson. Manasses's father was Joseph, who was Jacob's favorite son. Joseph was the son that was sold to Egypt as a slave by his brothers.
Revelation 7:7
Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand.
Simeon was Jacob's second son and Levi was his third son. Their father told them what they were in Genesis 49. "They are brethren; weapons of violence their kinship. Let my soul not come into their council; Unto their assembly let my glory not be united; For in their anger they slew men, and in their self-will they houghed oxen. Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce, and their wrath, because it was cruel; I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel." So as you can see these two are not good either. They are fighters.
Revelation 7:7
"Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand."
Issachar is the ninth son of Jacob and the ninth tribe mentioned here.
Revelation 7:8
"Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand."
Zabulon was the sixth son of Leah and the tenth son of Jacob.
Revelation 7:8
"Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand."
Joseph was Jacob's favorite son and his firstborn of Rachel, whom he loved. Joseph was the eleventh son of the twelve son's. He is also the eleventh tribe mentioned here. Joseph was the father of Manasses, who is one of the tribes mentioned here.
Revelation 7:8
" Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand."
Benjamin was the second son of Rachel. She died giving him birth. He was the twelveth son of Jacob and he is twelveth here. Twelve stands for governmental perfection in the scriptures. There are twelve tribes, twelve apostles, twelve months of the year, there is twelve stars in Revelation, there is twelve gates, twelve angels, twelve foundations, and the tree bears twelve manner of fruit.
Benjamin is the last son and his name means "son of my right hand". Who is at the right hand of the Lord? Jesus Christ is. All these tribes are symbolic. They are not in order and they are not all the tribes.
So no one knows who is who in these tribes. The only "Jews" are the ones in the first tribe mentioned, the tribe of Judah. Which was the Lord's favorite, because David was from the tribe of Judah. It is not important who is who. It is put here in this order for a purpose. We can see man's doing in this and we can see the Lord's doing. The first and the last are the Lord's doing. The ones in the middle is man's. Remeber all these are going to be protected, because they are sealed with the truth in the word.
