This is refering to the angel that said "woe, woe, woe in chapter 8. The angel was saying watch out you people who are on earth. As it is written; Rev 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound! The first "woe" is after the fifth trumpet. The second and third woe's are mentioned in chapter 11 after the sixth and seventh trump.
Revelation 9:13 "And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,"
John heard the sixth angel sound the trumpet. Then he heard a voice that came from the altar which is before God. The Father has shown us a little more of what his throne looks like.
Revelation 9:14 "Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates."
The voice from the altar, tells the sixth angel that the four angels that are not allowed to do anything yet, can be let loose from Euphrates. These are the same angels that were stopped in Revelation 7:2. The sealing has been finished.
Revelation 9:15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
The purpose of these angels, was to destroy a third of the people on earth, and they had a certain time to do it. The Father has everything planned out. If you know his plans, and you follow his Word, you will be protected, if you don't no matter what you will not overcome Satan.
Revelation 9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
In the greek this doesn't say two hundred thousand thousand. It just says two myriads of myriads, which simply means an innumerable amount of horsemen. John is telling us that Satan's whole army will be here on earth. There are alot of them, so there is no place to hide. You may be able to hide from humans or maybe one supernatural angel, but you won't be able to hide from thousands of them.
Revelation 9:17 "And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, "
Now we are going to get another picture, this time the transportation of Satan's army. "They will be carried by horses". First of all you have to understand when this was written. It was written back in the first century and at that time the only thing they had as transportation was horses. So John used things he could understand. Let me give you an example of what I am saying. John had never seen a jet airplane. So let us say that satan's army arrive on earth in jet airplanes. How in the world would John know how to explain what he saw. He would have no words or knowledge to explain the vision. So he would have to use things he knew of. In those days a man rode on a horse, so that is what John uses. How do you know this is not a horse, as we know horse, is because of what he explains. The transportation they will have sounds mechanical, not of flesh. There is another place in scripture that talks about the transportation the Father uses and the transportation his angels uses. If you are interested check out in Ezekiel chapter 1 and chapter 10. Another place is 2 kings 2, this tells you what came and took Elijah away to heaven.
Revelation 9:17 "having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone."
First of all flesh horses would burn up, if their breastplates were made of fire. Horses don't have heads like lions and horses don't have fire and smoke coming out of their mouths. This is what John saw, he puts it in words that can be understood, by people who lived at that time. Just think about this logically and you will understand. If you don't understand it or don't want to believe it, that is between you and the Father. I am his servant and these are his teachings not mine. The Father wants to prepare us for everything that will happen. Thank the Father for his grace and mercy. If anyone wants more depth then just ask and we will discuss it.
Revelation 9:18 "By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths."
John is telling us how a third of the men will be destroyed. They will be destroyed by three things. One is fire, the second is smoke, and the third is brimstone. Their lies burned up the truth, and cover the truth with their truth, and then the truth is turned to ashes.
Revelation 9:19 "For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt."
John is telling us they will not be hurting people with weapons of war. They will be hurting people with what they are saying and what they are saying is poison to the truth of the Word.
Revelation 9:20 "And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:"
This is a very interesting verse. Most people do not really understand what it says. Let us take it step by step. "And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues" This is telling us about what we just read. A third of men would be destroyed by this army. So this verse is refering to the others, not included in the third. The rest of the people will not be destroyed by this army yet. The next part of the verse says "yet repented not of the works of their hands," they don't want to do what these "angels" are telling them to do. "Repented not" means "to think differently". They want to keep doing whatever they want to. Then it tells us what they want to do" that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:" They want to have their own religions, they want to keep their money and possessions. These things are more important to them than "saving the world will be", which is what these "angels" will be saying to the people of the world.
Revelation 9:21 "Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts".
The rest of the people want to still do bad things and they want to sin. When Satan comes to earth with his armies, he will be putting a stop to all crimes and sins on the earth. There will be no more murders, There will be no more fortune telling or witch craft or drugs. The word "sorceries" is pharmakeus (far-mak-yoos'); from pharmakon (a drug, i.e. spell-giving potion); a druggist ("pharmacist") or poisoner, The way it is now on earth everyone sleeps with everyone and it doesn't matter. You won't be able to do that when satan gets here. You also won't be able to steal things that don't belong to you. You have to understand these are all sins of the flesh. Satan will pretend to be Jesus and he can't have these things going on. That is how he will fool people. the people who don't want "religion" will be fighting him tooth and nail. The ones that will be accepting him, will be the people who think they are "christians". Think about it and see if it makes sense. That is the reason the people who think they are "christians" will be ashamed and confused, when Jesus really does appear, as it is written; 2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Read all these verse in the Word and see what these people will feel. Israel is spiritual Israel, which is "christians" today. Not just the people called Israel in the flesh. Isa 41:11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Isa 49:23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Jer 17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. Zech 13:4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive: Rom 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. I Jn 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. Matt 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matt 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
