Saturn
The father
of time - was his claim,
With the gift of limitation he came,
Limitation itself a contender to man -
A challenge of strife against his life-span.
To conquer
death - an instinctive belief,
Is more - than the gift, the Gods could give,
Chronus's ruling powers were over-rated,
He was defeated by his own play he created.
He escaped
to Italy where he controlled,
As Saturn in a time-period of gold,
Saturnalia a feast of promotion -
To the God of seed and sowing in devotion.
What
makes Saturn always attractive?
The ring system which holds him captive,
With his moons as a great gaseous ball,
He dances as the second largest of all.
If
there were an ocean to be found,
So very large for Saturn to float around,
He would easily float - because he is
Less dense than water....that kind is his.
