PLANETS

Venus

She smiles on us - from up afar
As a bright splendid morning star,
To ancients - ‘The jewel of the night,’
Blazing her silver-blue shining light.

Veiled with white-thick swirling mist
A planet exposing her dark-giving gist,
Trapped in density of heated death
Acid droplets from her pungent breath.

In a giant shell, floating on a blue sea,
A desired maiden, shrouded in mystery,
Adored by all, as a gift from above,
Venus, the Goddess of beauty and love.

‘Beauty’ - a space-expression of youth
But aging, withering-death, reveals truth,
Of a flow of time, swallowing all so fast
Forever we endeavour to hold the past.

Planet or Goddess she represents a shrine
As long her glorious power will shine,
She will inspire the human heart
To express beauty with music and art.
