| Gingerbread 3 Cups all purpose flour 2 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 Cup unsalted butter softened 1/2 Cup sugar 1/2 Cup molasses 1 egg |

| In a medium bowl using a wire whisk stir together flour, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and baking soda. Set aside. In a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add molasses and then egg. Beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture and mix on low until combined. Gather dough into a ball. Shape into flattened rounds. Wrap into plastic and refrigerate for one hour. |
