Up to now there were many summoning systems. FFVII and FFIX was simple, execute the command by choosing a summon or an eidolon and shows an animation. In FFVIII, you have feature, ¡°Boost¡± by pressing Square button you can increase the damage during the GF animation. In FFX, the summonable beast are called ¡°Aeon¡±, and it is now controable just like a character and they have their own HP and MP (located same as the characters; replaced with Yuna). When Yuna summons an Aeon, everybody except the summoner leaves the battle until the Aeon is defeated. After summoning an Aeon, Yuna stands by the Aeon.

Each Aeon have their techniques and magic, however, certain Aeons don¡¯t have magic can cast. When the Aeon is playable, the menu is located as the same as the characters in the normal battles. If the Aeon has magic to cast, it will have choice to see the list and to cast.

The Aeons also have their own unique OverDrive attacks. It¡¯s triggered the same as the characters and the icon appears the same too. When the Aeon is defeated, the characters will return to the battle, so the summoner.
