Gallery \ Watches \ Three Spoke Benedict and Burnham Possibly one of the very first run of watches from the Benedict and Burnham MFG Co, this watch is one of the rarest and most sought after of the Waterbury Long-winds. Note that I assume it is a Long-wind - the watch appears to be pin set from the photo's, so it may be different. I was unable to closely inspect the watch, however, even from just the pictures it is apparent that this piece is significantly different from the other Benedict and Burnham watches. Note the small minute wheel, and the 3 spoke dial. This is the only example I have seen. The watch is currently on display at the National Watch and Clock Museum in Bristol, CT. The description given implies that it may have been a prototype piece. Exceptionally rare. |
