The Zambian Queen
Lisa Guilfoile is currently serving with the Peace Corps in Zambia, Africa.  Following are some photos she took from December, 2002 - February, 2003.  These are great because they give you an idea of where she lives, her neighbors, her job, and (her favorite) -- her new puppy, Cibote!  There are more pictures here!
This must have been a meeting of goats. Lise says it's too bad he crows at 2:00 a.m., 4:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., etc!
Another view of her insaka, featuring her Zambian-style alarm clock.
View from her front porch, looking into her insaka (meeting place).
She says it's icky to grab them.
Ookie.
A typical harvest.  Lisa says it's very sloppy, but fun -- and everyone helps.
Another harvest.  Lise says sometimes the fish try to hide in the mud.
Dig the short do!
Lisa and one of her bemba teachers, ba Lackson.  She says he has a beautiful voice and sounds like Brian McKnight.
Taken at the swear-in celebration.  These are a couple of Lisa's Zambian trainers.
December, 2002 -- after a storm
Say cheese!
Another view from her front door.  The mangos were in full season and dropping off the trees.
