Zac lay on his bed, listening to his brothers snore in frustration. He hadn't heard from Emma yet and figured that even when he did, he still wouldn't be able to sleep. His heart and mind were both racing a mile a minute, and the whole evening played over and over in his head. He was lost in the memory of that last kiss, the one she planted on him so suddenly just before she pulled away, and he felt himself smiling in the darkness. That kiss made his toes curl and his cock spring to attention, immediately. Hell, just the memory of it did that. He groaned under his breath and rolled on to his side. Just then his cell phone rang, next to his head. He answered it quickly, before it could wake anyone up. "This is Zac.." he said quickly.
"It's Emma. I'm home, okay?" she giggled softly.
"Hi Em. I'm glad. I was getting worried."
"I woke up my mother first, she had a cow..she could smell beach in my hair so I got the customary 'you-know-i-don't-like-you-out-on-that-pier' lecture. No big." she chuckled again.
"I'm sorry Em." Zac said sincerely, feeling like he was at fault. "
"What for? You goofball, the pier was MY idea." he laughed with her and his brothers groaned. "Zac...we're TRYING to sleep.." Tay tossed a pillow at him. "Hang on a sec, Em.." Zac got up and went into the bathroom, and closed the door behind him. "Kay, sorry. Tay and Ike are already sleeping." he told her as he slumped down on the floor. He sat with his back against the wall and put his feet up on the counter. "We should be too you know." she told him and he could hear the warm smile in her voice. "I know." he smiled into the phone. "I'll let you go, Em. I just wanted to know you were home safe. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?" he asked, hoping she'd have some time to at least TALK to him.
"You better, Hanson." she teased him with a threatening tone. "I'm not that kind of girl.." He chuckled again. "I know, Em. That's what I like about you. I'll talk to you tomorrow then."
"Kay, Zac." she said softly. "Sleep well."
"You too, Em. Sweet dreams."
Zac was smiling so hard he thought his face would break, as he switched the phone off. He picked himself up off the floor, undressed himself and climbed into bed. But it was a long time before he slept.
It was almost a week before Zac and Emma could get together again, but they talked everyday. When they finally did get together, Zac could not help but pick her up and swing her around before blindsiding her with a very passionate kiss. That kiss left her breathless and trembling in his arms. "I have been dying to do that all fucking WEEK!" he exclaimed and kissed her again. "I'm glad to see you too, Zac." she giggled and tugged the back of his ponytail. "Come on.." he grinned. They were outside the studio. Emma insisted on meeting him there, not wanting to introduce him to her mother just yet. It was her week to work for Danny, and her mother was especially nasty those weeks. Zac tugged her by the hand over to his truck and opened the door for her. Taylor, Ike and Walker emerged from the building just then, and both Tay and Ike gave Emma a wave and a smile. "Good thing you're letting him drive.." Taylor teased. Emma stuck her tongue out at him and
grinned. "Maybe so, Hanson number two...but I" and she stressed the word, "..am never late for work!" Isaac laughed along with Walker. "You must be Emma.." Walker grinned as he approached Zac's truck.
"That would be me.." she smiled and stuck her hand out. "I'm Walker, Zac's father." he shook her hand, heartily. "Nice to finally meet you Mr. Hanson." she said cheerily. "Same here, Emma. Please come by the house with Zac, soon. Mrs. Hanson would be just as glad to meet you I think." he fixed a meaningful look on Zac. "Oh I plan on it Mr. Hanson.." Emma said quickly. "I have just been working alot more than usual is all. Classes keep me busy during the day.."
"You are welcome anytime, Emma. See you soon. And stay away from that pier." Walker teased. "Oh not you, too.." Emma rolled her eyes. "That was totally NOT Zac's fault." she giggled. Zac smiled at how easily Emma spoke with his father, and knew his mother would like her too.
"Have fun, you two." Walker said and strode to the vehicle he had driven in with Tay and Ike. They usually rode together, but Zac was determined NOT to make Emma drive this time. "Nice to see you again Emma." Isaac said and joined his father. "See ya Hansons.." she grinned and winked at Tay as he strode off to join his father and brother, making both Ike and Tay shake their heads. She gave Ike the same wink and hopped into the truck as Zac held her door open for her.
Zac and Emma saw a movie, had dinner in the truck, ("I don't want to eat with all those people coming up and asking for you autograph, Zac. Your dinner will get cold before you can eat it." They had had that problem in the theater, until the lights went down, and it wasn't even a busy night.), then drove out to Huntington Beach, which wasn't THAT far from L.A. They walked along the shore, instead of on the pier as they talked, Zac unwilling to let go of her hand for even a minute. Emma didn't mind, though. She liked the feel of her hand in his large, strong, warm one. And it made her heart beat almost out of her chest when he looked at her. She had pulled the blanket out of the trunk of her car and thrown it in the back of the truck, in case they decided they wanted to sit on the beach, and she was glad she thought of it. They spread it out under the pier, between the thick concrete pillars in the sand. They sat facing the ocean and talked, watching the waves crash against the wooden, and some concrete posts that held the pier up in the water. Zac slid closer to Emma on the blanket and put his arm around her shoulder. "If I hadn't been able to talk to you all week, I would have gone crazy, Em. Believe it or not, I missed you." he told her, wondering if she felt it, too. "I believe you, Zac. I wanted to see you, too. Talking on the phone is good, but it's not the same." she smiled up at him.
