Over the next week and a half, Taylor and Deanna mutually decided that seeing each other was not such a good idea. Dea readily admitted she could not keep up with them and , quite honsetly, didn't know how they all could keep up such a breakneck pace with almost no sleep. But they parted as friends, with Dea making a comment about how Emma's friend Jenny was more his speed. What Taylor didn't say, was that he found himself spending alot of time with Zac, Emma and Jenny. Ike and Kim joined them often, and betwen all of them Hannah was NOT lacking for attention. Tay laughed when he saw the look on Emma's face the first time Hannah said her name, it was a combination of shock, pleasure and a look of love, rivaling that of a mother's love for her very own children. Everyone in the room roared when Jenny teased Emma, poking her in the rib and whining "Auntie Em!! Auntie Em!!" Emma tackled her as Tay grabbed Hannah and made sure she stayed out of the way, admonishing the little one, jokingly, NOT to follow her mother's example. Emma found it endearing that little Hannah seemed to have a thing for all three Hanson men, but Jenny found it amusing. "Good god! She's her mother's daughter..knows a room full of fine lookin' men when she see it.." she giggled and then went into the kitchen to grab anoher round of sodas. Kim had really taken to Jenny, too, but she was alot like Emma and very hard to dislike. 'But just the same,' Taylor thought to himself, 'she's NOT Emma..' Taylor looked up to see Jenny staring at him with an undecipherable look on her face, the he realized she had caught him, following Emma across the room with his eyes. He blushed slightly and looked down. "Here ya go, Hanson.." she smiled down at him and handed him a soda, then laughed when Hannah made a beeline for him, wanting his drink. "Hey...you know your mom doesn't want you drinkin' this stuff. Bad for your one tooth, sweetie.." he chuckled and handed her the sipper cup she pitched when she saw his soda can. She gave him a sweet, one-toothed smile, and Jenny laid her hand on his shoulder. He picked Hannah up and bounced her on his knee. Jenny smiled knowingly at him and gave him a wink, then ruffled her daughter's curly blonde hair. Taylor was also spending more time than he should watching Emma dance at the bar. He kept telling himself it was to make sure Danny didn't actually hurt her, to protect her for Zac's sake, but in his heart he knew it was the only way he could see her and not have to hide how he looked at her. She was beautiful when she danced and deserved to be on stage doing just that, no stripping off of the clothes, not having to do more shots than most men could handle just to stomach being up there. Just dancing. He had made arrangements for someone he knew, that could help her get started at least dancing in music videos or something small like that, to begn with, to come watch her at the bar. He'd be in town in a few more days and Taylor KNEW he'd want to get her started. The only thing that worried him was that Danny's attitude toward Emma grew worse as the day of her graduation drew closer. More than once he'd seen Emma give him a shot that would take Danny's breath away and knock him to his knees. And all the while he watched silently as his brother fell more deeply in love with her everyday. |
Taylor watched as Emma danced all over the stage, she was on fire tonight, winding the crowd up like he'd never seen before. She saw him watching and even messed with him a little bit, but not too much, because he knew she didn't want him to be recognized in here for more than one reason. The friend he had talked into watching her was really getting a good show, too. He actually had a smile on his face as Emma twirled around him, without letting him get close enough to touch her, winked, took the bill he held out to her and spun away. Taylor stayed back and kept drinking the beer that Candie kept bringing him, making sure to tip Candie well, for good service and her silence. Taylor knew she knew who he was. Once Emma's number was done, which completely rocked to the beat of Kid Rock's Forever and left her covered in sweat, Taylor led his friend over to the end of the bar, where Emma would see him but Danny wouldn't. Candie brought a couple more beers and Tay gave her and extra tip and a wink, knowing these girls worked their asses off in here for only two reasons. Number one, MONEY. Number two, the chance to be seen by someone like his friend to get their break into REAL show buisness. The chance that never came because Danny was a lying scum bag and never even bothered to make good on any of his promises to make them 'stars'. Candie winked back and smiled. "Sugar's on her way out, pretty boy...my turn." she said and tossed her bar towel down on the counter. She flew past Emma into the back room to change. Emma gave her a funny look, shrugged and went behind the bar to get to work. Soon as Candie was done she was out. Candie could cover while Brit was on, all Emma wanted to do was go home, shower and then meet Zac. She groaned to herself when she looked over at the bar and there was Taylor, again. She had to find a way to keep HIM out of here, his Dad and the management company and his publicist would shit a brick the size of Dallas if his pretty face was plastered all over the tabloids in a dump like this. "Hey, sugar baby.." Taylor smiled as she came up beside him and began to dry shot glasses. Emma smiled and then pinched his arm, HARD. "Oww..hey...is that anyway to treat your body guard?" he teased. "Shut up, Hanson. You KNOW you shouldn't be in this dump...why the hell are you in here so much anyway?" she snapped. "Could you drop the hard ass bitch routine for just a second? PLEASE? I want you to meet someone.." he told her. "Tay, no..." she said her voice low. "YES.." he grabbed her wrist and tugged her closer. She looked to make sure Danny was nowhere to be seen before she would even speak. "Hi.." she told the man standing next to Taylor. "What can I get you?" she asked when he didn't say anything. "I'll take another beer.." he told her, "What can I buy you?" he asked. "No more for me tonight." she smiled, "I have to drive and I had my quota up there.." she tilted her head toward the stage as she pulled the top off a bottle of beer and set it on the bar in front of him. "I'm Jack." he finally smiled at her. "Call me sugar, but I'm sure the bodyguard has already given you my REAL name." she smiled at Taylor. "Need a beer? You're in a no parking zone, bud." "Yeah, thanks." he grinned. "So? What has Hanson here been telling you that would make you come into a dump like this?" she asked, and shot Tay a dirty look. Taylor pretended to be afraid and put his fingers up in a cross sign to ward her off. She snapped him with her bar towel and then turned her attention back to Jack, who chuckled and handed her a card. |
