| They were all talking comfortably, and Emma was feeling a little warm. Her face was flushed and her limbs ranged from tingling to almost numb, but she couldn't tell whether it was from the sweet drink, she'd had more of than she'd planned or the proximity of Zac's very large, strong, warm body to hers coupled with the fact that he was being even more attentive than usual. She leaned back against his hard chest and his hair fell forward and brushed her cheek lightly. She reached up to play with it, rubbing the soft blonde ends between her fingertips, and decided she was definately beyond tipsy, fast on her way to drunk. She took a pull fo the candy flavored liquor straight from the bottle, then sat up a little straighter. "Tay...turn that up..." she nodded toward the radio. "Please.." she grinned as he reached for the knob and turned it up for her. She slumped back against Zac and closed her eyes. "I looove this song..." she smiled and took another drink. Then, to everyone's amazement she opened her mouth and sang. "Everything's so blurry, and everyone's so fake, Everybody's empty and everything is so messed up. Preoccupied without you, I cannot live at all My whole world surrounds you, I stumble and I crawl. You could be my someone, you can be my scene You know that I'll protect you from all of the obscene. I wonder what you're doin', imagine where you are. There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far. Can you take it all away? can you take it all away? Well you shoved it in my face, this pain you gave to me.. Everyone is changing, there's no one left that's real So make up your own ending and let me know just how you feel. 'Cause I am lost without you, I cannot live at all. My whole world surrounds you, I stumble and I crawl. You could be my someone, you can be my scene. You know that I will save you, from all of the unclean. I wonder what you're doin', I wonder where you are. There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far.. Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? well you shoved it in my face, this pain you gave to me." Zac leaned over to watch her face as she sang. He knew she could, and her voice was unique, but this was the first time he'd ever heard her really let go. She always sang with the radio, but not like this. She was feeling it, and oblivious to everyone around her. Her head was back on his chest and her eyes were closed as she overshadowed the singer on the radio. He glanced up as Tay adjusted the knob again, so they could hear Emma, but she could still hear the music to sing. He didn't have to be so careful, Zac thought, she wouldn't have noticed anyway. He returned his attention to Emma's expression as she finished the song, still oblivious to the fact that all eyes were on her. "Nobody told me what you thought, nobody told me what to say. Everyone showed you where to turn, showed you when to run away. Nobody showed you where to hide, nobody told you what to say. Everyone showed you where to turn, showed you when to run away. Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well you shoved it in my face, this pain you gave to me. "Damn. That's a good song." Emma commented and took another pull of her bottle. "I wish I would have grabbed my CD's when I moved out...shit." she muttered into complete silence. "I miss that one, AMONG OTHERS." she gave Zac a sideways grin, checking to see if he caust her meaning but he was staring at her. "Why you lookin' at me like that drummerman?" she giggled, but he continued to stare. "ZAC! What?" she asked, becoming concerned. She looked around the group to see Ike and Kim grinning at her, Taylor's mouth hanging open and Jenny giggling hysterically, lying flat on her back as Zac continued to stare. |
| "Mind cluing me in Miss Smart Ass?" Emma looked pointedly at jen, still laughing hysterically on the blanket. Jenny sat up and cleared her throat a couple of times, trying to stop laughing, but it wasn't working. "Would SOMEBODY PLEASE explain why I feel like I just stepped into a scene from the Twilight Zone, PLEASE?" Emma begged. "I'm not drunk yet.." she grinned at Jenny and took another pull of the bottle. "Emma!" Jenny exclaimed, "You were SINGING.." Jenny thought this was extremely funny due to the fact that she'd been telling Emma for years that she could 'really sing' and Emma referred to her own voice as 'the golden croak'. "Yeah? So what? I always sing with the radio, keeps dogs away..." she giggled. "It's a wonder Taylor can still hear. Why are they looking at me like that Jen? Was it worse than usual?" she chuckled. In that moment, Zac found HIS voice. "BAD?? ARE YOU NUTS??" he asked incredulously. "Uh-uh....saw all the stray dogs bolt.." she giggled and took another drink, figuring she was already on her way to drunk and they weren't going anywhere. "Bad..." Zac rolled his eyes, "NOT. But I'm not gonna argue with you now." he told her and kissed her apple-candy flavored lips. "'Cause I think you're DRUNK.." he grinned down at her and threaded his fingers through her curls. "And I think you and I need to walk...and TALK." she took another hit off the bottle and Zac licked his lips as he saw hers glistening with the sweet-flavored liquor. He took her face in his hands, kissed her deeply, not caring that they had an audience, and licked the candy flavored liquid from her lips. "Damn..." he grinned down at her and toyed with the end of one of her long ringlets. "So? You got somethin' you wanna SAY to me drummerman?" she slurred, giving him a sexy grin. "Got more than ONE thing I wanna say to you.." he murmured back as he moved his body to standing. "Grab that bottle.." he whispered in her ear, as he leaned down and scooped her up, making her squeal. "Zac!" she giggled, "Wait, baby.." she leaned back and grabbed the bottle and their blanket. She balled the blanket up and tucked it between her cheek and his chest, like a pillow, then took another drink. "Hey.." he growled in her ear, "I got plans for that." he licked her neck and carried her a few steps. "Ooohh..I'll save some for you.." she grinned. He tossed her and she squealed again, as he distributed her weight evenly in his grasp so he could carry her on the sand. "Oh? Is that a NEW euphemism for it? TALKING?" Jenny teased loudly. "SHUT UP, JEN." Zac and Emma chimed in unison, then laughed again. "Yeah whatever..." Jenny giggled as Tay pulled her closer to him. He whispered in her ear as Zac carried Emma off, "They have the right idea, I think...walk with me, Jenny." he said as they both looked at Ike and Kim, who were involved only with each other. "Kay.." Jenny smiled up at Taylor and took the hand he offered to her. "Oops." she giggled. "Trying to keep up with Emma is really NOT something I should do when it comes to liquor." she told him. "You alright, baby? We can sit here.." he grabbed her elbow and steadied her. "Nope. I can walk. I'm no wus.." she chuckled, "just not a fish named Emma.." Taylor laughed. "Okay." he took her hand and laced his fingers through hers, keeping her close as they walked along the shore |
