We arrived in Guatemala on Wednesday, September 18 to bring our children home! We stayed a week to take the kids on a mini vacation before flying home to the USA.
On Thursday, we took the kids to
their embassy doctor visit. Afterwards, we went to see the Relief Map of
Guatemala. It was much bigger than we had imagined!

We stayed at the orphanage for 3 nights total (Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday). On Thursday evening, Keith and I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for all the kids. They seemed to enjoy the rare treat!

On Friday, we went to a resort near the Mexican border with Guatemala. Across from the hotel was a water park called Xocomil, and an amusement park called Xetulul. The children had such a wonderful time! We all did!

We came back to the city on Sunday night with an incredible amount of rain from Hurricane Isadore, then went to the Embassy on Monday morning. After all the paperwork and interview was complete, we checked into the Marriott for some much needed rest! On Tuesday, we took the kids shopping for souvenirs, went to the tearful good-bye party, then back to the hotel before the flight home on Wednesday.

Wednesday, September 25, 2002, is a day we will always remember as our Gotcha Day! We flew into Atlanta's airport and went through Immigration without a hitch! We were so thankful to all of our friends and family who prayed for us throughout the entire process. God has been so good to us in blessing our home with 3 more children! Enjoy the pictures!

Our welcome home party, complete with a cake from Aunt Jennifer!
