he has played with andrew prinz of mahogany, members of alisons halo, rob smith of PAIK, mike anderson of DREKKA, kirk marrison of KILN, FIBREFORMS, tj martin, odell nails of MAJESTY CRUSH, stella tran and friends bands such as six string malfunction and xebec. he has opened for LOW MEDICINE, BOWERY ELECTRIC, trans am, majesty crush, lovespirals, and spiritualized.
scott began his musical education at an early age. he lived above his grandparents with his mother and father and was exposed to various styles of music and sounds. motown,classic rock,tejano,british invasion,classical,jazz and film scores. as a child he was fascinated by the otherworldy beauty of reverb ,and later as a teen discovered it within the confines of a rack mount. he adored the hypnotic drone of the train that klik-klaked in his backyard,and the chirp of crickets at night. marveled at the ghostly disembodied voices on his grandfathers shortwave radio and the alien static it generated, floating hypnotic, mesmerism. the shimmer of harmonics from his aunts organ or the humming of a transformer. undifferentiated from style , all sound spring from the same source, silence. all sounds have a transmutability,it is just a matter of harmonics.
in 87 scott came upon the alesis reverb unit and digital delay and he was never the same since. using these simple devices he was able to transform the guitar or any sound source into a diverse tonal palette deconstructed and unrecognizeable from its original source he created a color field of varied sonic impressions ranging from tinkling music boxes, quasi koto, spinning tops, shortwave buzz, staticamp hum, bell klang, ghost organs, phantom string sections,rumbling bass,jet engines and a host of otherworldly sounds.
currently working on further distancings from pop and moving into sound environments, installations, video work, electro-acoustic instruments, and drone based work.
