One of the most basic things in life is respect for each other and respecting one's beliefs and religions. I have found that there are a lot of prejudiced people out there. Let me first get a few things straight: we do not sacrefice babies to the Gods, we do not worship the devil, we do not eat little children, we do not use magick to hurt others, and we do certainly not do any evil. Well, maybe a little lie to save yourself or something..but hey, don't we all..:)
How come that in the past people were so suspicious about us? For starters, the Christian belief in de the Mid centuries was very strong. Everything the people did was based on God and His will and wishes. At the time there were of course also women alone, trying to earn a living for themselves and trying to keep themselves alive. They of course were the first victims of the so called 'Witchhunt' which lasted untill late last century, even you may think not so. I can tell you that the last so called 'witch' was killed in Mexico, in -if I'm correct- 1981. In Europe, the last witch was a man, convicted for witchcraft in Switzerland. Also, the killing is still going on, and if I may say, it makes me sick. My opinion on this subject is that if people hear the word 'witch' they either start to laugh or they think you are totally insane and should be locked up as soon as possible. I've found myself not telling people anymore about what I really am, even though we live in the 21st century now and this should be possible. I think that  there are a lot of people out there who are frightened and misunderstanding about what we are and what we do.

Still, I'd like you and all the other people out there, to consider what we have done the past few centuries. We, allmost all mankind were going mad by the Book the Witcheshammer (written by pope Innocentus) and when the Witchhunt reached it's top, the harm was already done and millions of women and men (less, but still just as outraging) were already killed by their own species. I feel this like we are eleminating ourselves and we must prevent this at all costs in the future. Never again, the Burning Times. The pictures below remind us that we must keep in mind what has happened in the past, something we must never ever do again. They also link to pages who can tell you a bit more about the Burning times if you are interested in knowing about that.
