Conflict Resolution
Paul didn't walk beside the Lord
As I was privileged to.
But there's no doubt he's seen the light,
Preaching to Gentile--I, to Jew.
We're different, too, in other ways,
For he's a logic man.
But I'm a people pleaser,
Avoiding conflict as much as I can.
At Antioch his logic won
When I was in the wrong.
I'd withdrawn from Gentile folks,
With Jews to get along.
Paul let me know in public
How he felt about my act.
His words stung--I felt ashamed.
Pleasing people lost to fact.
Although I love my brother Paul,
Abrasive he can be.
He often is so logical
It bothers feeling me.
I like to get along with all
As best as I can do.
But I'm learning, as I grow,
That God's made logic, too.
