history

The Masters of Armageddon have existed for almost four years now, and as such they have quite the extensive history. Titles, rivals, everything about their past can be found here... well, almost everything.

YEAR ONE
the golden age

In September 9th of 1997 the M.o.A came into existence. Finding a home in the WCIWA it's founding members consisted of Styx, Stone, Ice, Mister Money, Prophet, Blood, Vigilance, and Corporate Punishment. This I refer to often as the golden years of the M.o.A. Yeah, the group was young and inexperienced but they dominated. At one time they held ever WCIWA title. Not an easy feat for a stable to pull off anymore in today's federations.

With these eight-members the M.o.A had established themselves as a powerful stable within weeks of their arrival. It's only axis...the Fatal Charms. The Charms at that time consisted of only Misery (The original Charm),
Shawn Twilight, and Ransom (a manager then and brother to Misery). Even with the numbers of the M.o.A their youth showed as Misery was able to hold the World Title through the greater part of his career there and almost single handedly kept the Fatal Charm name alive as two-others were still finding their place in the sport...

The first big M.o.A event came when Styx had his second match with Misery. It was a match that had been building and building for a little over a month and a half. Both men had wanted each other badly and finally three-weeks away from the original
fall from grace it happened...At the same time Vigilance had captured the World TV title (later he'll be known as the greatest TV champ in WCIWA history), and Ice had captured the IC title, while Shawn Twilight and Stone, enemies, made an uneasy alliance to win the Tag-team titles...

At the end of the match with Misery, Styx came away with a win and new found respect for Misery. He would even come to call Misery his friend. But Shawn Twilight, still didn't like the M.o.A and a new comer (we'd fined out later to be The Charm, and even later then that Jeffery Drake) didn't like them too much either. So then came fall from grace...

On October 5th, 1997 Styx, Stone, and Mister Money all had appearances on the card. Styx versus Twilight was the header to the main event, and the main event being Misery versus Bane. Prior to Styx's match with Twilight at ffg he had suffered some injures (fractured ribs, which still give him problems to this day), and a loss to a now vanished wrestler X-Calibur...losing the WCIWA World Title in the process (Styx wouldn't hold the WCIWA World Title again for almost a year)...So despite Styx's injuries and mental state he wrestled at ffg out of respect for Misery where he came away with two loses. One at the pre-card and the second against Twilight. Where at the end of that match they shook hands and made an uneasy alliance between the two...It was an unnatural alliance. Charms and Masters don't mix...

Misery retired with a win and life returned to normal in the WCIWA...almost. Ice, a then M.o.A member and the then current WCIWA IC champ had had a match against Twilight a few weeks after ffg. Ice lost this match, and his title, but later that night a new comer Richard Hope having just won the WCIWA World Title a week prior to that  night made an open challenge to anyone...and before Styx could get in the ring Ice jumped in and soon became the World champion.

Of course this left Styx infuriated...and a lot of people started to talk. Talk that Ice would be kicked out of the M.o.A for what he did, but instead it was Styx who left...of course in the end it ended up being nothing more then a strategic move on the Masters part, and Styx did eventual rejoin the M.o.A openly a few weeks later, but this is important because it gave us our first glimpse of Stone's position, at that time, within the M.o.A...

For the second that Styx had vacated the M.o.A...Stone, assumed leadership...It is well documented that perhaps Stone was and is Styx's only one true friend. Working as a tag-team for a few years before entering the WCIWA, Stone was always Styx's right hand man, and to some a founder of the M.o.A...but he was never really a leader, and it would take a few more months to find that out.

It would have to be said that the Golden Age of the M.o.A really started to fade the second Styx was thought not to be the leader of the M.o.A (this seems to be the mainstay anytime Styx is absent from the M.o.A). Because it was at that point when Styx's presence was lifted from his stable, and they began to see their lives and careers in a new light...

Styx, still shaken ever since his loss to X-Calibure, continued on a downward spiral...suffering loss after loss. His biggest problem at the time came in a man named Shame (someone who would for awhile turn out to be the federations top money maker, and the M.o.A's largest thorn for some time)...Styx began to take his frustrations out on his stable members...

Ice, who had remained WCIWA World champ for some time had begun to make friends with a new order of Fatal Charms (because shortly after ffg Shawn Twilight had vanished...leaving only The Charm, and this new order behind), and as his friendship grew with this new order...so did his mind, and he began to despise Styx...

Stone, meanwhile had found love in a fellow stable member, Fire, and his attention towards his career and the Masters began to fade...

Mister Money, was just barely there in the WCIWA, and a few months later would take him completely out of the sport...

Vigilance, always the constant was still the WCIWA TV champion...though he too began to see Styx in a new light.

Blood, had become injured in a match, and was forced to retire from the ring...The Masters were starting to fade, and the vultures were moving in, but not before the M.o.A received a second life with the arrival of three-new members...one of which would forever change the face of the M.o.A...

the new generation/the great mutiny

WolfsBane, Redemption, and Flesh...all arrived in the WCIWA just days apart from one another, and to all those outside of the M.o.A fold it appeared as if the M.o.A was once again re-energized...having replaced the members it had lost, but these new members weren't any more loyal to Styx, save Flesh, and they were brought in by others for their own purposes which would soon become all too apparent...

At the same time that earlier peace with the Fatal Charms had grown into a full blown alliance, an ill fated alliance...things were starting to fall into place...

Then BOOM! Twilight returned by crucifying the Charm, dismissing this new order of Charms as anything, and aligning himself with his long time mentors nemesis, Bane. The Charm, would not be seen again for awhile...And Styx who had had a respect for Misery when he retired at ffg turned his attention towards Twilight and Bane...his back to the wolves now...his mind occupied his mutineers planned...

And so it was that they struck the night before Styx's long overdue title shot against Bane and Shame...the Great Mutiny...

Fed up with the lack of respect, with the constant ridicule, and the sometimes physically abuse the M.o.A turned on Styx. Spare headed by Ice, who discovered one day, by chance, that over the years since Styx had found William Collins (Ice) he had been mentally abusing Collins' wife, fondling her, and striking Williams kid (Marcus Collins)...He quickly organized the M.o.A and Fatal Charms (who consisted of Blade, Chaos, and Manaic) into destroying Styx. So the night before Styx's world title match he was attacked by the entire M.o.A in the locker room...Broken and bloody Ice put the death nail in. He sprained Styx's spine temporarily paralyzing him for a good six-months...

silver age

With Styx out of the picture Ice joined the Fatal Charms completely, and Stone took full charge of the M.o.A. And that's things really started to fall apart. Like was said before...Stone's not a leader. And so while he assumed command of the M.o.A by word...he didn't lead it. Instead his focused switched over to two things...his love, Fire...and his hate, Prophet. Stone's one mindedness sent The M.o.A into inner conflict.

Ice, the lone Fatal Charm in the WCIWA strikes out to other feds and finds great success with his Charm friends...

The M.o.A continues on a downward spiral. Twilight, signal handedly takes down each member. They are unorganized. It's falling apart. A new comer Scott Davidson feels he should be the leader. Stone, his mind elsewhere is just seconds from giving it up...The Charm (Jeffery Drake) returns at some point in all of this and calling himself still a Charm aligns with Ice...

The M.o.A was falling apart...unraveling at the seems, and the only bright spot came in the form of Flesh...who mocking Bane came to call himself the King 'o Extreme, and soon was finding himself to be a very efficient hardcore wrestler...

the return I

Then from the shadows of six-months Styx reappears, an army at his back. He returns with Raou, Saleah Ridgers, Life, and Death. A formidable group of individuals especially against the disintegrating M.o.A...Targeting only the M.o.A Styx keeps his profile low, and away from the WCIWA upper echelon, which at that time consisted primarily of Shawn Twilight...

Moving slowly and carefully Styx and his new stable are able to withstand the M.o.A and Styx even manages to win the WCIWA Brawlers title from Flesh. It is a critical blow because it breaks Flesh's last hope of freeing himself and he becomes Styx's for life...It was the one and only win Styx needed as HIS plan started to unravel, and so with that win Styx disbanded his new stable, and went almost completely underground again...

And so the M.o.A continued to fall apart. Without direction...their supposed leader Stone vanished...it was Scott Davidson (a multi-time World champion, and another man that became the show in the WCIWA for some time), that picked up what was left of the M.o.A, but he was too late to change any of the events that Styx had put into motion..

An event the
Alliance of Wrestling Federations came about in the summer of '98. One of the matches there...Stone versus Styx for the reigns of the M.o.A...It was a match Styx had planned for since his return to the M.o.A a couple of months prior. The match was more of a brawl then anything else. Two-friends that knew each other so well releasing all their pint up angers and frustrations. At the end it seemed as if Stone would be the victor, but no...At the last second Flesh, forever loyal to Styx, emerged from the crowd, pulled Styx off a table that Stone had him sit up on, and it was Stone that went sailing through the table, and lost to a count out. Stone would vanish for awhile now...And Styx would regroup his loyal members and the M.o.A was strong again...It was also at this event that Flesh having won the WCIWA World Title switched titles with Styx, and Styx became a two-time World champ and Flesh became a three-time Brawlers champ...At this time Vigilance was a three-time TV champ...and Jamie Williams first joined the M.o.A...

war for the future

And the M.o.A was on top again...Styx was the WCIWA World champion and the people refused to challenge him. Shawn Twilight, was not there to challenge him, The Charm wasn't there.. It was quiet, and then the War for the Future. Ice versus Styx...their war began in the WCIWA (where they fought to a draw, and on that same night Ice left the WCIWA, and Styx was fired for pulling a gun...(the World title was vacated), and both men signed with the Liberty Wrestling Federation.

In the LWF the Ice/Styx feud escalated, but never happened as the LWF fell upon bad times, and closed down. With the LWF closed down Ice returned to the WCIWA, but Styx wandered...he went from fed to fed gathering new M.o.A members...M.o.A: New Age Rage had been formed in the WCIWA...M.o.A: Way of the Future had been formed in the
ICWL...M.o.A: New Blood was formed in M.o.A The Federation. In the ICWL it was Styx that introduced Vice to the world. A person who would be very influential to the M.o.A in the future...

Then
Judgment Day. It was Ice's retirement match. He sent a challenge out to Styx. It was never answered so the community waited in silence to see if he'd show up, and right on cue he did. It was another match that I was happy to see him in, but as per Styx's running record he lost. Ice retired and Styx vanished for a long time indeed...

YEAR TWO
night of armageddon one

Vice and Jamie Williams became the backbone to the M.o.A...they kept it alive in the WCIWA and the GWIWC...and it was even then that Vigilance returned for his 4th World TV title reign...The M.o.A was on a steady course, but Styx was gone, and every time he leaves, faith in the M.o.A diminishes...

So Styx stayed gone...he did make a brief appearance near the WCIWA's one-year anniversary show,
RELOAD, which took place on September 2nd, of 1998, but he didn't do much more then talk. Still the M.o.A (even though Vice and Jamie bickered constantly) had a nice strong roster, and had already accumulated well over 60-plus titles...

However, the bickering became too great and soon the M.o.A was falling apart. What they had always considered their home (the WCIWA) closed down on December 6th, of 1998 with an event entitled,
forever, and the M.o.A moved to the BEW. It survived the transfer some-what, leaving only four or five-members inside the community, and lasted just long enough for Flesh to make a reappearance. Where he was ordered to destroy Twilight. So an already severely injured Flesh did just that. Winning the World Title from Twilight in one match and putting him out of the BEW for a time. He then went on to win the Hardcore title against MoV...Then at Night of Armageddon Flesh finally fell as Kevin Merrix hit him with his finisher snapping his head back just right and paralyzing Flesh...

return II

Styx made his return then...A visit to his "sons" hospital room and then off to the BEW...but he was uninterested in the challenges there. He wanted only Twilight. And soon Twilight returned from his injuries. The M.o.A was strong enough and held the majority of titles there at the time. Styx had disconnected himself and remained focused on Twilight. Though a challenge was made...egos and pride would never let it come to be. One wanted respect. The other wanted his way...Styx and Twilight never happened. So Styx left again.

From there the BEW did eventually close. Seeing Banshee as it's last Hardcore champion...and the JWA opened. What was left of the M.o.A moved there...For the first few weeks the M.o.A was starting to regroup, and it's numbers were growing again. The roster now consisted of completely new Masters, and none of the same that Styx ran with. Still they were gaining a foothold. Then at fall from grace 3 (where Shawn Twilight was retired)  everything fell apart, and the M.o.A...the complete M.o.A was diminished down to one man. Gangrene.

YEAR THREE
return III

Styx, was quickly back on the scene and started to raise the M.o.A from the dead again. He thought when he left he had left it in capable hands, but he was wrong. He first sought out Faith, brother to Flesh, to restart his army. Then with phone calls, under the table dealings, and favors he was able to bring the M.o.A roster back to some respectable measure. Though the AOWF community had been reduced to one federation. So they toiled away in the JWA. Styx would eventually have his first match since almost a year at an event entitled Symphony of Destruction. From their talk of new federations started up and the AOWF community started to come back to life. First the American Wrestling Federation, and then the Pioneer Wrestling Association. The M.o.A soon spread it's numbers to the AWF, and after AOWF 2 (where Styx became it's World champion for the AWF, Tommy Riley became it's World TV champion for the AWF, and Blood became it's KoE champion for the GWIWC) they spread to the PWA with Faith and Blood...

And the community continued to grow with the induction of WCIWA˛ at the hands of President Ryan Magee...Styx recognized the WCIWA˛ as his new home...a chance to rebuild his stable in the same environment

It's been now almost two and a half years since the M.o.A showed up (on March 20th). They have went from a countless number of members throughout a countless number of federations, to just one member, and now back to the powerhouse which it once was. This alone is but a brief history, and between each line of text there is another story to be told. M.o.A Always.
