Wayside Vs. Lakelands 27-Jan-2001

Wayside Celtic 8 - 1 Lakelands

Player Ronan Kelly
Position Goalkeeper
Rating 7
Comments Didn't have much to do, but a little indecisive for the goal.

Player Jamie O'Sullivan
Position Right Full
Rating 7
Comments Had a good first half, but ran out of steam in the second.

Player Neil Mulvey
Position Centre Half
Rating 9
Comments Great game by Neil. Sprayed the ball around beautifully all through the game. Man of the Match

Player Fergus Maxwell
Position Centre Half
Rating 6
Comments Very quiet game from the big man. Was ill prior to the game, maybe that would explain why.

Player Andre Conlon
Position Left Full
Rating 7
Comments Unusually quiet game from our flying full back. Had a solid game, however.

Player Seoirse Lenihan
Position Right Midfield
Rating 6
Comments Not his best performance of the season, but still managed a goal in the first half.

Player Sean O'Connor
Position Center Midfield
Rating 7
Comments Concentrated too much on scoring goals. Should have played in the middle where he was supposed to. However, scored three great goals, one of which he ran the length of the field beating five men on the way.

Player Brendan Mitchell
Position Centre Midfield
Rating 6
Comments Not a great game from Brendan. Lost the head early on when a penalty decision didn't go his way. Also missed a penalty late on.

Player Robert Deering
Position Left Midfield
Rating 6
Comments Battled well throughout, but he too was dying to score a goal.

Player Niall McMullen
Position Centre Forward
Rating 9
Comments A great game from Niall. Scored a hat-trick, and held the ball up very well. A big improvement from last week.

Player Conor Bracken
Position Centre Forward
Rating 6
Comments Didn't get involved as much as he would have liked, but still battled hard throughout.

Managers Thoughts
Although we won well, we didn't play well. Too many players were only interested in scoring goals, and that resulted in some individual performances. Not the team performance which has worked so well for us this season.
