Down Under: The Sequel to the Sequel Continues - Part 2

Linz
It looked hopeless for everyone...even Lionel who was shoved into the room with Babs.
"Ryan?!? Is that you?" she asked.
"No, sorry, I'm his brother, Lionel...Lion for short" he replied, and sighed "I'm so sorry you're in here with me..."
"Why?" Babs asked.
"Well, Wax has sworn to kill me, so I can only imagine...and what about those other girls? I wonder what he did to them..."
"Do you know where they are?"
"Unfortunately no..."

Meanwhile, the Anon figure reached into the backpack and pulled out an old book and handed it to Linz instructing her to page 2398. Linz said a few words from the page, and a yellow mist came from the book and into the heads of the girls, except for the dark figure and Mel.
"Wha? Where are we? Mel! Explain!" Linz said.
"You know me?" Mel asked.
"Of course I know you!"
Mel jumped with excitement and thanked the Anon figure profusely, trying not to reveal the identity of the one shrouded in darkness.
"Now can someone please explain?" said Sue.

Wax grinned evilly as he stepped through the portal back into the building where he'd left the girls. "They'll all work for me now. Priceless."
Only to pause, shaking his head. The trace of magic too nearby, in this very building, catching his attention. "No! I won't let them get away ..." Racing off down the hall.
* * * * *
The figure in darkness shook her head. Hand raising to point to the book. "Keep that Linz," the purposely low pitched tones. "You need to learn to use what you have. And you'll need it, I think."
"Need it?? I'll say, with Wax here!" Mel announced.
The woman blanching, visible even in shadow. "Wax is here?? We can't..." Alarm in her voice, eyes sliding over to the book and back. Hand flaring with fire to light her way as she twisted. The door she'd entered by suddenly the most important thing to her.

Meanwhile, Babs and Lionel were searching frantically for a way out of the room.
"There must be a way out," said Lionel.
"I've looked everywhere," said Babs, "We're stuck!"
She moved over to the mirror. It was incredibly big, taking up the entire wall. And even more amazing, it was one continuous piece of glass, which made her wonder how anyone could have gotten it into the room. She began to think about her sister Holly, and how worried their parents were. Then she began to think about how this whole mess began when Holly had flown out to LA to help the guys from Whose Line. Still thinking about the guys, she absent-mindedly, she reached out a hand to the mirror. Suddenly, the glass began to ripple like a liquid, and a sea of colors flooded it's surface, swirling and combining until only a shimmering blue remained. Babs stepped back and gasped, and Lionel turned to see what was going on. As they gazed at the mirror, the solid blue became somewhat transparent, and they could see five figures within the sapphire-colored mist.
"What on earth..." Lionel said. Babs gave a startled gasp, and turned to look at Lionel. As she did so, the mirror shifted back to it's original condition, showing only the relfections of Babs and Lion.
"What the heck just happened?" asked Babs...
Linz
As the figure raced to the door, the door opened and in stepped...Wax. "Going so soon? I don't think so," he said, grabbing the figure. When two burly men appeared behind Linz and Mel and grabbed them as well, Linz was thankful she had hidden the book quickly.
"Now, all of you should pay close attention now, while I make your anon figure so helpless," Wax said evilly.
"How do you plan on doing that?" Sue asked.
"You wouldn't!" Mel asked.
"Wouldn't what? reveal the identity of the anon figure to make her lose contact with K9 and so she will be stuck here as well?" Wax laughed. The anon figure struggled as Wax forced the figure to the floor, removed the hood, cap and overshirt to reveal...
"Jess!" Sue shouted.
"Yeah, I'm so sorry...I didn't know any other way...I mean, I had to take some time out from the Whosers page! What better way then to help fellow Whosers?"
Wax laughed so evilly, the room seemed to get colder...
Babs
Wax laughed maniacly as Jess just glared at him.
"Nothing you girls can do now. While my first plan has seemingly been foiled, I shall just move on to Plan Beta."
"Huh? Isn't it usually Plan B that you bad guys have?"
"Usually, yes, but that's just too....trite. *I* am more original than that." Mel and Linz looked each other, trying to surpress a giggle, while the other girls just rolled their eyes.
"So, men, let's go. Bring those three with us," Wax said, indicating Linz, Jess, and Mel.
"What are you going to do with us?" Mel asked.
"Well, now, if I told you, it wouldn't be a suprise, now would it?"
Wax strolled out the door and as it closed with that final line from him, Sue muttered, "Original my @$$."
* * * * *
"What did you do?" Lion asked.
"I don't know." Babs pressed against the mirror again, but nothing happened.
"Why did it go all...liquidous?"
Babs shrugged, confusion confounding her.
"I was just wondering how anyone could fit a mirror this size in here, then I touched the glass," Babs touched it again to demonstrate, but nothing happened.
"Are you sure? Were you thinking about anything else? Did you say anything?"
"Did you *hear* me say anything?" she snapped. Lion looked hurt. "I'm sorry Lion, I'm just so frustrated! I could have sworn I saw your brother and four other men...I dunno. Wait a sec..."
"What?"
"I know what happened! I think..."
"What?"
"I was thinking of your brother and the other contestants..."
"Do it again!" he said excitedly.
Babs concentrated hard and slowly reached her hand out to the glass. The tips of her fingers touched it, and smooth liquid silver rippled accross the glass and coated her fingers. Again, the image of five figures cloaked in mist appeared.
"It's them..." Babs whispered in awe.

The five men looked off into the mist. Staring at the figures there. The youngest standing up from where he crouched, his movement seeming to clear that mist more.
And giving the tallest of them a shock, staring, mouth agape. "One of them looks like...."
"You" responded another, adjusting his glasses. "Ding ding, Bizarreworld, next stop." The sarcastic tone of those words as he said them seeming to soothe him. Their defiance comforting.
And urging him to step forward. "Don't!" cried the one who already had tried to force the walls of their prison. But still he stepped...

The rest of the Brady Bunch watched as Wax marched the three out of the room. Glaring at the guards left, their large muscular forms brooking no argument, no escape.
Sue unable to stop from humming under her breath in her agitation. Only then noticing the glimmer of blue light at the window. Noticing it only because its colours pulsed to the rhythm of the tune she carried.
* * * * *
"Oh come on. If I'm going to be captured by a villain, the least you can do is say the line." Jessie grinned at Wax. The earlier wan complexion replaced by smartass comments. "Say it. No, Ms. Bond, I expect you to die."
"Don't give him any ideas," muttered Linz. Knowing Wax too well by this time, knowing his abilities to survive even what they'd thought was certain death. Not underestimating him.
"I don't have to get ideas, Lindsey dear," Wax's morbid response. "You, magelet, never got the teaching you needed, and so you are no match for me. I have taken those of you with powers away from the others, and where I shall put you you'll not be able to use them again. Then, I shall make them mine again, and they won't even remember your existance. Though with how pathetic I shall make that existance, it's not a bad thing."
A snap of his fingers made the mirror warp and change. The portal open, to show something that made them all freeze. "You see?" Wax laughed. The three of them responding to his leer in different ways. Linz carefully holding her hand over the hidden book he didn't know she carried. Jessie's hands crossed over her chest, cradling her bag, smirking back at him. And Mel, left trying to figure out why she'd been classified in this group.
In that confusion looking closer into the portal as Wax herded them towards it. Eyes widening as she saw...
Linz
"Guys!" Mel shouted.
The five men turned to their rear and saw 4 blurry figures. Wax shoved Jess and Linz into the mirror, but didn't close the portal. He turned to Mel and annouced, "I need you for backup..."
He let the sentence trail off as he motioned for the two burly guys to grab her, as she struggled to get away, Wax calmly placed a gold necklace over her head, said a few words that Linz could barely make out, and Mel crumpled to the floor, unconcious.
"What did you do to her?" the one of the tallest of the five men demanded "That was really, really really..." his sentence trailed off because he was smacked upside the head by the tall, attractive one. Wax laughed.
"Even if you do manage to get out of there, she will have to reamin, only a certain act will be able to wake her, otherwise, the mist will keep her alive for 72 hours."
Jess and Linz exchanged worried glances. Wax knew what they were thinking.
"Yeah, that's right, you're next..."
Holly
"What are we going to do?" Natalie Elizabeth asked the others.
"I don't know. We have to get out of here," Holly responded. "We could really use Indiana Jones or Macguyver right now."
"I bet David Duchovny could save us, if he were here," Sue muttered.
"Who?" Holly asked.
They all looked at her agog.
"Sorry, my memory's still fuzzy," she said sheepishly. "I know who he is, he's the baseball player, right?"
"Well, we have to do something quickly, before that jerk gets back here," Kathleen cut in before Holly could make herself look even more foolish.
* * * * *
Babs and Lionel, in the meantime, were watching as Wax lorded his powers over the three girls and the contestants.
"I wish we could help!" Babs exclaimed.
Lionel noticed, "Where are the other girls? Do you see your sister?"
"No, she's not there. He better not have done anything to her. I swear, I will kill him with my bare hands," Babs vowed. She couldn't imagine facing life at home without her sister. They had three brothers, after all, and Holly's reptiles just didn't like her.
Lionel tried to calm her down. "Think about her and touch the mirror. We should be able to see them."
"Ok," Babs closed her eyes and breathed deeply.
The image in front of them changed to a room with the rest of the Bunch sitting on the floor, consoling each other.
"There she is!" Babs sighed with relief. "They look like they're alright."
Just then, there came a noise from behind them...
Nikki_Lynn
A door slammed shut behind the two, and Babs lost her concentration. The mirror solidified once again, and Babs found herself staring at nothing more than her own reflection.
"Ah," said Wax, "I see you've figured out the secret of the mirror."
"What did you do to Mel?" Lionel hissed, spinning around.
"Oh, just a little magic spell..." said Wax, "But in another 72 hours it won't matter. She'll be dead, they'll be dead...you'll be dead." He grinnned, "Unless, of course I decide to keep them around for my own personal amusement."
"What's your angle, Wax?" said Lion, "What it is you want."
"I want them to suffer," Wax ranted, "I want them to die slowly and painfully, feeling completely helpless...And I want to enjoy watching it."
"Where are you keeping the rest of the Brady Bunch?" Babs screamed, running straight at Wax, posed to knock him out flat. He lifted his hand and stopped her dead in her tracks. Babs fell to the floor feeling as though she'd hit a brick wall.
"Your sister and here friends are safe enough where they are," he laughed, "I'm sure she'll find her way here eventually. They'll all end up here eventually...I'm expecting them...And this time, they won't be able to stop me from taking my revenge. First, on the Brady Bunch...and then on my picture perfect brother and his friends." Wax turned and walked out the door, leaving Babs and Lion to wonder just how soon the Brady Bunch would show up at what was obviously a well-laid trap...
* * * * *
"Is she alright?" asked the one with the glasses.
"For now," said Linz, "I had hoped to find you guys under better circumstances."
"You know us?" asked the youngest.
"You mean..." said Jessie, "He took your memories, too?"
"Who?" questioned the tallest.
"Wax," Linz state flatly, glancing at Wanye, "Wayne's twin brother."
"I'm getting really really really really confused," said the adorable, balding one. Linz sighed.
"Allow me to explain," said Jessie...
Babs
"We're who?" the tallest asked after Jessie had explained things to them.
"You're Ryan Stiles," then she turned and pointed to each of the others, "You're Colin Mochrie, you're Brad Sherwood, you're Greg Proops--"
"Proops?" Greg interrupted, "Imagine how much I must have gotten teased as a kid."
Jessie cleared her throat and ingnored the interruption, "And you're Wayne Brady. Wax if *your* twin, and his bitterness and jealousy of your life is what ignited all of these problems."
"Wow. Can you image the burden of all this? I can't believe it!" Wayne shook his head.
"I know how you feel, man," the new-found Brad said, putting an arm around him.
"How? How you can you know? Besides the fact that you can't remember anything, it's not *your* brother who has tormented the lives of five men and a group of young women. A brother," Wayne forced a harsh laugh, "a brother I can't even remember, wants revenge on me! And he's hurt so many trying to get it!"
"Wayne..." Brad started as Wayne left to the edge of the mist.
"Let him go, Colin, he needs time to himself," Ryan said, resting a hand on Brad's shoulder.
"I thought I was Colin," Colin said confusedly.
"Whatever," Ryan shrugged.
* * * * *
Babs overcame her moment of weakness. Why was it that whenever Wax was near, she was either unreasonably furious, or unreasonably frightened?
"There *has* to be a way out of here!"
"There isn't. The door's locked, the windows are unbreakable, and that mirror is only a way to see people, not to get to them."
Babs walked up to the mirror again. Thinking of the contestants, she touched it again. Again the ripples, and again, the image of the players, plus Jess, Linz, and the unconscious Mel. She then thought of her sister, and again she saw the Brady Bunch locked in a room. She thought she saw a blue ball of light behind them, outside the window, but then it was gone and she ignored it.
Then a thought wedged itself in her mind. She smiled to herself. Of course! Why hadn't she thought of that!
"Why *hadn't* I thought of that?" she said to herself.
"Thought of what?" Lion asked, coming right up behind her, while looking in the mirror.
She ignored his question and began to think of Wax. An image of him and his men soon appeared and...what was that he was holding? She couldn't tell...
Linz
It looked almost like...
"A deck of cards?" She asked confused "But that means..."
"WHAT?!?" Lionel screamed confused.
"But it simply can't be..." Babs wondered out loud, trying to piece things together. Then she got it, she turned to Lion and said, "Linz and Jess have sent for help"
* * * * *
Wax was examining the deck of cards in his hand.
"But it can't be, it simply can't be, how can their powers reach beyond the mist?" But then he stopped. "Maybe it didn't." He ran to open the portal.
* * * * *
Meanwhile, the girls with Chris Ben and Dan were trying to figure out what they could do to help. When suddenly a figure appeared in the room, at first it looked like Jess, but the figure went up to Sue, placed a hand on her shoulder, which startled her, but then she knew who it was.
"Emile! What are you doing here?"
"Jess and Linz said you needed my help...Where are they?" Emile asked.
Nikki_Lynn
Meanwhile, Linz and Jessie were still trying to get the guys to understand the situation.
"Ok," said Colin, "Let me see if I've got this straight...Us guys are all big TV stars on a show called Whose Line, and Wayne here...he's got an evil twin named Wax who's insanely jealous of his success, and bent on world domination. And you girls are Wayne's fans..."
"And yours too," Linz interjected.
"And our fans, too" Colin continued, "And you run around trying to stop Wax, and save us all the time. God, it sounds like a bad Scooby Doo rerun."
"Scooby who?" Brad said, confused. Greg smacked him upside the head.
"Why'd you do that?" asked Ryan.
"I dunno," said Greg, "It just seemed like a good idea."
"Hmmm," said Linz, "Was that our moment of Zen for the day?"
Jessie smacked Linz upside the head.
"That's Sue's line," said Jessie.
"Sue's not here," said Linz.
"Sue who?" asked Brad, who then instinctivly ducked, just in case. "Another Brady Buncher," replied Jessie, "Who should be contacting us very soon...I hope."
"What are you talking about?" asked Linz.
"I still have a few tricks up my sleeve," said Jessie, "Wax doesn't know all my secrets...Fortunatly, one of those secrets he doesn't know about is Emile..."
Jessie grinned knowingly...
Kathleen
As Wax got closer to the portal, he could feel the force of it pulling him closer and closer until...
* * * * *
As the girls and Ben, Chris, and Dan watched the figure of Emile talk with Sue. Kathleen mentioned again, "I still don't remember much of anything."
The other girls all turned around and went "Shush!!!!"
Chris went up to Kathleen, "It's okay I don't know much of what is going on either."
* * * * *
. A paper slipped out of Jessie's sleeve. Brad picked up the paper, "What's this supossed to be?"
He unfolded it, and on the paper was some writing. Jessie blushed, "Oh that's just the tricks that were up my sleeve..."
Babs
Meanwhile...
"Huh? How do you know?"
"You see that deck of cards?" Babs pointed with her unoccupied hand to the mirror's image.
"Yeah..."
"And those cards on the table in front of Wax?" Lion nodded, "Wax is doing a Tarot reading--"
"Don't you need a special deck of cards? Like, Oh, I don't know...*Tarot* cards for a Tarot reading?"
Babs rolled her eyes and ignored Lion's sarcastic tone. "Normally, yes, but you can do it with a normal deck of cards, too." Lion looked dubious.
"Trust me."
He shrugged.
"Anyways, the Ace is equal to the death card in a normal Tarot deck, but that doesn't mean death. It means, usually, that some sort of change, a big one, is going to happen. I'd bet my life on it."
"I wouldn't do that," Lion said, "Not in the position we're in right now."
Babs shrugged. "Now, I can't remember what the rest of the cards mean in a normal deck, but it has to be good for us. Look how angry Wax is getting."
All was quiet for a few minutes as they watched Wax angrily throw the deck of cards across they room and scream orders at his henchmen, then storm out of the room. Babs let her thoughts slide to the contestants, sure that's where he was heading next.
"Mel doesn't look good," Lion commented.
"How can you tell?" Babs asked.
He shrugged for an answer. Several minutes passed by.
"Where is he?" Babs wondered aloud.
The door slammed open behind them, almost breaking off its hinges. Lion and Babs whirled around to see Wax seething as he stood in the doorway...
* * * * *
"Wax took them," Sue said, "We don't know where."
Emile chewed on that for a few moments.
"How did you know where to find us?" Kathleen asked.
"Just before they were taken, I assume, Linz and Jessie sent for me. I came as soon as I could, but it seems I'm too late."
"No you're not," Holly said, "You'd only have been too late if we were all dead, you came just in the nick of time."
Emile wished he could believe that, but until they could find Linz, Jessi, and Mel, time was ticking; and soon it would be too late...
Nikki_Lynn
...Suddenly, the lights went out.
"What the heck!" yelled NE as the room filled with a soft blue light. Emile grinned.
"Relax," said Emile, "She's on our side."
"Who?" asked Nikki_Lynn.
"D'Shen!" Emile exclaimed, holding out his hand. The light in the room condensed into a ball and hovered for a moment before landing on Emile's palm. The light faded and revealed a tiny creature. It resembled a small lizard, but it's irredescent wings fluttering in the still air looked like they belonged on a dragonfly. Kathleen reached out and stroked her finger along the little creature's back. It cooed in reponse.
"Awww..." said Kathleen, "It's so cute."
"What is it?" asked Holly.
"SHE," said Emlie, "Is a fairy dragon...And I'm pretty sure she can take us all straight to Wax. I think we have some planning to do!"
* * * * *
...Wax paced back and forth. He hadn't planned on Emile showing up. He picked up a small dagger and stared at his relection in the blade for a moment before shifting his attention to a mental image of Mel. The dagger began to glow red...
