Nikki_Lynn ...Ryan struggled to his feet, wincing at the pain in his side. Holly and Babs were still fighting, but Wax looked like he was begining to lose interest. He turned to Nikki_Lynn, and whispered something in her ear as he handed her a second crystal rod. She began to move toward the group. "Brad," barked Wax, "Finsh them both off." Brad grinned and stalked toward Babs and Holly. At the same time, Nikki_Lynn moved menacingly toward the other group, her gaze resting steadily on Greg in particular. Greg took a step backwards as she raised the crystal rod. Suddenly, Vree appeared on his shoulder, hissing defiantly at Nikki_Lynn, flames arching from his back. He jumped at her, but she dodged his leap, stiking him with the rod as he flew by, beating him to the floor. Greg was terrified when Vree didn't move. And still, Nikki_Lynn was advancing on him. Across the room, Brad tapped the end of the rod to Holly's back, holding it there, Holly's knees buckling, but he wasn't quite quick enough to catch Babs. She jumped on his back, her arms tight around his throat. Brad flailed around frantically, gasping for air, and Ryan seized the opportunity. He dove at Brad and raked his fingernails over the sticker on Brad's arm. A few moments of scatching, and it came off entirely. Brad shook his head. "What's going on?" he croaked, Babs' arms still around his neck. Babs released him. Ryan handed the monkey pendant to Brad. The moment he took the pendant back, his eyes widened in horror. "Oh my God," he said in a low voice, turning around to see Wax glaring at him. Suddenly, Brad's thoughts were interupted by a cry from Greg. Nikki_Lynn had him pinned against the wall. The rest of the Bunch were trying to help, but some unseen force held them back. Nikki_Lynn stood mere inches from him, still moving forward, forcing him to press his back into the wall, holding the rod dangerously close to his cheek, grinning evilly. Greg's eyes held a look of pure terror. But suddenly, he had an idea. Despite the danger from the rod, Greg raised his hands to Nikki_Lynn's shoulder and shoved her away from him as hard as he could. As she stumbled backwards, Greg reached out, and snatched the glasses off of her face, preying that she was nearsighted. Nikki_Lynn growled in frustration, and moved toward Greg, but suddenly tripped over Greg's outstreched foot, and fell flat on her face...and on top of the crystal rod. Nikki_Lynn screamed in utter agony as the searing pain burned though her body. The force that held the Brady Bunch back vanished, and they rushed over, as Greg lifted the now unconcious Nikki_Lynn off of the rod. "Her arm," said Ryan, "Take the sticker off her arm!" Greg ran his fingers along Nikki_Lynn's arm and found the sticker, tearing it off. "Where's Vree?" he said in a desparate voice. "Right here," said Mon, holding Vree in her hand. The little dragon looked a bit stunned, but not seriously hurt. Greg sighed with relief. "Hey," said Colin, "Um...where's Wax?" The group turned around to face where Wax had been moments ago, but he was nowhere to be seen... |

Linz ...he had figured that his destruction of the Brady Bunch was not going to work, so he had a backup plan. If he couldn't get revenge on Wayne, he would take over his life. He neared the room that Jess, Mel, and Linz were in but started banging on the wall on the opposite side, when he heard it hollow out, he took out his dagger that he used earlier and inserted it into the hollow section. Almost instantaneously a door appeared and Wax went in. Inside the room were several machines, bottles of potions and cluttered tables. Wax went over to one side of the room with a large machine. He inserted the handle of the dagger in one section and started to think of Mandi. "Well, we have no idea where we'll end up, I mean, since no one else knows we're doing this they may think we're *really* dead...and..." "And?" Jess prodded. "And, there is always a chance we never wake up," Linz said solemnly The girls looked at each other and slowly nodded. "OK, just gimme a sec," Linz said. She started to rub her pendant and it glowed red. "Ok we all need to take 3 deep breaths together. Then we'll take one more, and it'll be the last one for 20 minutes." The girls looked at each other, and finally Jess and Mel nodded. Linz motioned with her hand when to breathe in and out, in and out, in and out, in...then the three girls collapsed to the floor, unmoving unbreathing. "My dear!" said Wax with glee. "Please go check on the others down the hall whist I check on the magelings." "It would be my pleasure dear," said the evil twin. "Crap! I thought I couldn't hurt her!! I needed her as bait! But oh well, at least she's dead. Pick up those 2 and follow me." By the time Wax reached the other room with Mel in his arms, Mandi's twin was just about to go in. "Be the last one in, my dear, there's only so much shock a person can take, and I want to be sure they overload," Wax said with a grin. As he entered, he set Mel down to the side and motioned for the others to be set down as well. "So, this is what will become of you if you do not meet my demands when I return," with that he headed off to the kitchen. Colin went over to Mel and felt her pulse. He looked up and said, "She's dead." Emile and Brad ran over to Jess and Linz and did the same. "Oh Jess, I'm so sorry, I should have gotten here sooner, then I could have helped more..." Emile said, bent over Jess. Brad lifted Linz a little and said "I'm so sorry, I knew that something like this would happen. But I didn't think it would happen to you..." Then there was silence. It was finally broken by a voice from the doorway. "How sentimental." "Mandi? Is that you?" Wayne asked. |

Jessie The beeping finally stopped. Computer going silent where it sat, still forgotten. The winding cord that attatched to the phone line hidden mostly in shadow. And that was why it didn't matter that no one on this side was paying attention to it. Because on the other end of that phone line a pair of hands typed madly on a different computer. Dark hair with bright contrast falling into intent eyes that worked to help from across the globe. * * * * * Greg had drifted off from the recriminations and sorrow being poured over the others. Looking at the small figure that had curled itself around his wrist. Vree's calmness confusing him. After all, he'd come with one of the forms lying on the floor, and evidenced connection with her. As had the fairy dragon crouched on Nikki_Lynn's shoulder. That realization bringing him over to grab Nikki's other shoulder. Voice dropping in a terse whisper so as not to be overheard. "Think. D'Shen & Vree didn't react, didn't give any indication of them being dead. They've gotta be up to something? How could we help?" Thankful his voice was a really quiet whisper as he heard, along with the rest of the room, the female voice from the doorway. |

Kath The ersatz Mandi stepped into the room, her face the very picture of worry and concern. She went right up to Wayne and embraced him tightly. "Oh, Wayne. I've been so worried about you. You disappear without a word, and then your brother brings me here... I don't even know how he did it," She choked back a sob, "He says he'll send me and your friends back home if you cooperate with him. Otherwise, I don't know what he might do." Wayne pulled out of her embrace just enough to look at her. "You trust him?" he said, a little surprised. "He gave me his word. And you know that *I* would never lie to you," she answered, burying her face in his chest. Wayne only hesitated for a split second. As far as he knew, this was his wife, the woman he loved and trusted above all others. It never occured to him to ask why she had been brought here now, especially since Wax already seemed to have so much leverage over him. "If you and the others are kept safe, and they all get to go home unharmed, then I'll cooperate." Mandi smiled through crocodile tears. "He wants you to come with me and wait for him while he takes care of your friends." She motioned towards the doorway, where a thin mist was beginning to coalesce, pale and inviting. "That will take us where he wants us to go." Wayne began to move towards the doorway with her. Greg spoke up suddenly. "Wait a second here. After everything he's done, you're just going to trust him? Don't you realize this is probably another trap?" "Oh, I know it's another trap," Wayne replied. "But what choice do I have? What choice do *any* of us have?" He cast his eyes around the room, settling his gaze briefly on Nikki_Lynn, just long enough for her to notice. Nikki_Lynn caught her breath. There was something about the way he had phrased his words, something important. She knew it was important. He was trying to tell her something. If only she could figure it out... It was time for a little backup plan of her own. She whispered softly to the little dragon on her shoulder. "D'Shen, go with him and make sure he's all right. And don't let anyone see you." The tiny dragon slipped off Nikki_Lynn's shoulder and flitted towards Wayne, concealing itself in the collar of his shirt just in time. Wayne and Mandi stepped into the mist, and disappeared into nothingness. The others stared at the empty space where they had been. Seemingly, there was nothing to do now but wait for Wax's return, and their ultimate fate at his hands... Or so they thought. As one, Jessie, Linz and Mel began, almost imperceptibly, to glow. * * * * * Far away, the figure at the keyboard paused in her typing just long enough to take a generous swig of the coffee she kept by the side of the computer. She winced. It was ice cold. "This had better work. Jessie, the stuff you get me into..." She returned to her typing, following the detailed instructions that scrolled along her screen with a speed that the weak phone connection should not have been able to maintain. As she keyed in the last of the instructions, she thought to herself that, considering the way things had been going, Jessie and the others would need all the help they could get. So, just to make certain all went smoothly, she cast a little spell of her own. Not a mage's spell, for she was no mage, but something more elemental, more simple. A spell of good fortune. Energies raised and shaped, the appropriate supplications made, she gathered the spell and released it through her finger as she hit the enter key for the last time. The results of her work sped through the ether, on their way to the still-silent computer on the other end of the line. She leaned back and listened to the music pouring from her radio. "Here and now, all is clear, you must face this mounting fear..." Yes, indeed. What Jessie had asked her to do, what she had just done, was very risky. For all of them. And they would all have to face the consequences... |

Linz Greg walked over to the girls when Vree flitted off of his shoulder and landed on Linz's forehead. Almost immediately after, her eyes fluttered open. She looked around, and looked up, almost cross eyed at the little dragon still on her forehead. "Thanks Vree," she said with a smile. "LINZ?!?" Brad shouted with delight. "Yeah, sorry for the scare. Wax tried to kill us, so we thought we should give him the satisfaction of doing so..." Linz reached over and touched Mel and Jess' foreheads and they woke as well. "Where's Wayne?" Mel asked. Ryan quickly got them up to date. "That can't be good..." Jess said. "But Wax will be back soon, and we figure on giving him a bit of a surprise, with your help..." Linz said with a smile as she started to tell her plan. * * * * * "Jess, I really hope this works..." Samantha said as she waited for the last few charectors to load. She sighed heavily and continued to type several hundreds of charactors into her computer. Jess was well prepared for something to go wrong, and it would take a lot of work, but hopefully it will work... * * * * * When Wax finally reentered the room, he found everything as he left it. So feeling quite confident, he said "So! Are we ready for the fun to begin?" "I can hardly wait..." said Greg in an ever so sarcastic tone. "Ah ah ah!" Wax toyed, "You don't want to end up like her do you?" Wax said, reaching down to Linz's throat. Just as he touched her, she grabbed his wrist, and pushed down on his veins to create great pain. "I don't think so!" she said as she quickly put his hand behind his back, and Brad obliginly tied him up with the rope Jess had. "I should have figured as much," Wax said, but then a smile crossed his face, "but you still haven't won." "What do you mean?" questioned Mel. "Wayne is still with Sandi..." "Don't you mean..." Jess started to ask. "No, Sandi, Mandi's twin..." "That is really really-" Colin started, but noticed brad's hand in position to smack him so he stopped and finished, "weird..." |

Jessie Click. click. click.
Samantha's typing of a few key words bringing K9 to attention. Not moving from his home of pixels and characters, but alert now. |

Nikki_Lynn ...a gaping expanse of blackness...as though the physical matter of the world had simply been sucked into a massive void. "What is this?" he gasped, then glaring, "and who are you really?" Sandi pretended to look shocked, but then grinned. The door slammed shut behind her, and she laughed as Wayne pulled at it trying to open it. "Poor, poor Wayne," she said, "Wax created me just for you...to get you away from the others...And it worked." "What are you going to do with me?" Wayne asked. Sandi laughed again. "Oh, you're going in there..." she said, pointing to the void that lay before them. "Well if I'm going to die," said Wayne, "You could at least tell me what Wax is planning on doing..." "Simple," said Sandi, "Since he's still in you're body, he's going to take your place. The Brady Bunch is his insurance that Ryan, Greg, Colin, and Brad will behave themselves...Now come along...Time for you to die." She shoved him hard towards the void. Wayne fought to keep his balance... "What's wrong?" asked Greg. "Wayne..." said Jessie, "She's trying to kill him!" Wax laughed, "You see how easily things turn around?" "Shut up," said Ryan, "Come on! Let's go help Wayne!" "I have a better idea," said Linz pulling out her book, "Time to put that little spell you tried to use on my to good use." Wax's face paled. "You can't," he said, "You wouldn't." "I can and I will," said Linz, "You're going back to you own body!" The group formed a circle around Wax, as Linz opened the book to the proper page, and began to whisper the words that would send Wax and Wayne back into their own bodies... |
|
Linz Linz whispered as quickly as possible without messing up, who knows what would happen if she messed up. But Linz was determined. This was no time to mess up! Soon, the figure in the middle of the circle passed out, and Jess ran to the middle to check for a pulse. "Nothing," she announced. "It's ok, check again in about 5 minutes, and HOPEFULLY there will be one," Linz replied. "What happened? Where's D'Shen?" "Wayne!!" the girls cried in unison. They quickly untied him and he caught them up to date. "So that's it, huh? No more Wax?" Nikki_Lynn said. "Hopefully," Brad replied. "I'm not so sure," Linz sighed. "We've underestimated him before, hopefully if there IS a next time, we can talk him out of doing anything too irrational." "So are we ready to go home?" Jess asked. "How?" Kathleen asked. She was kinda hoping to stay longer to chat with Silverchair. Jess lead them all into the room with the laptop. On the screen was K9 and warm, soothing colors. "If we all join hands, we should be home in no time." As they did, a bright light filled the room and they were gone. "I don't know, I haven't seen him forever!" replied Chris. Meanwhile, Ben was still in the kitchen, next to an open empty refridgerator, moaning "I'm still hungry." |

Nikki_Lynn The Brady Bunch reappeared in downtown LA...much to the surprise of the morning commuters. "Um...maybe we should get out of the middle of the street," said Nikki_Lynn. They walked to a nearby diner and sat down. "So that's it?" asked Mon, "No more Wax?" "Wax is still alive," said Jessie. "How do you know?" asked Greg. "Vree told me," she replied, "I can't communicate with D'Shen anymore since she's in this void thing Wayne told us about, but apparently Vree can. He says that D'Shen is keeping an eye on him for us, and not to worry about her. She's alright." "Poor D'Shen," said Nikki_Lynn, "Is there anyway to get her out of there?" "I don't know," said Jessie, "But believe me, if there's a way, I'll find it." "So what do you say we head home?" said Babs. "Sounds good to me," replied Emile, as Vree uncoiled himself from Greg's wrist and jumped to Emile's shoulder. Greg had to hold back a few tears as Vree cooed his goodbye. "Don't worry, Greg," said Jessie, "You'll see him again...I promise." The group put off leaving as long as they could, but eventually they all drifted back to their own separate lives... D'Shen coiled herself underneath Wax's collar, knowing he'd never notice her. Waiting for her own chance of escape. Knowing her friends wouldn't abandon her to this madman. She reached out to Vree with her mind, just to comfort herself. She was determined to do whatever she could to help the Brady Bunch for as long as she was stuck there... |

Jessie Wax floated, silently, growling as he looked for escape. And seeing it in the portal that opened before him. Scrambling towards it. But then scrambling away. For the hyena that had knocked him down before stood in the portal, teeth bared, and this time not looking at all pleasant. Neither did the great canine creature that stuck it's head in beside. Having been put on alert earlier, and not happy with the one that floated within the void. A soft bark escaping his throat. D'Shen flying quickly, desperately towards them. Wax grabbed for the creature, anger taking control of reason. But she eluded him, floating through the portal. Wax's attempt to jump after them so desperate, and so lost, as the portal closed in front of them with a solid sound. "I'll still escape" Wax crowed. "They can never get rid of me. Never." "Anomaly found." pulsed the words. "Delete? Y/N" And Samantha didn't even think twice. Hitting Y with a loud laugh. Glee in her tones. One more beep from the computer signifying the end of the void that had been created. Sent back into the nothingness it had been drawn from, away from this world. Whether or not the soul inside it sensed and screamed out in rage before the deletion occurred... who knew?
