WILD BLUE YONDER WILDLIFE REHAB & RELEASE

Wild Blue Yonder Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release is a foster facility for injured and orphaned indigenous wildlife of Central New York State. Nurturing wildlife back to health & providing neonate-to-adult care for animals in crisis is the goal of this Stewardship. Natural habitat release sites as well as our private, protected wildlife refuge offer those in care the optimum return to the wild.    Education of the youth in our area as well as personal direction for those interested in becoming Wildlife Rehabilitators through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) is also an important aspect of WBY.    The primary mammal admissions at this privately operated facility are Rabies Vector Species;  raccoons, skunks and bats. Most other indigenous mammals will be taken in so that we may provide proper housing, care and successful release, as well.    It is the intent of this facility to provide an enrichment  environment for  all admisions and ensure a natural and safe environment at the time of release.     Those of the Wildlife Rehab Community interested in aquiring the NYS DEC required amended permit for RVS rehabilitation  are encouraged to contact this center for definitive education and assistance toward acchieving this worthwhile vocation. The number of orphans far exceeds the number of RVS licensed rehabbers in NYS.        Every year we must heartnbreakingly                 turn away many.   Please consider the gratifying challenge and become State approved to rehab RVS.
