5. Rear

4. Doors

#1
The instruction video says that 1984 Fiero's do not have this slot to put the door panel, but my '84 does seem to have it. But the pannel doesnt actually go into this slot, because i need the door up higher to fit right.
#2
To install the door panel, first put the underside below the door frame, then pull up on the top lip to put it in the slot. I used C Clamps to hold it in place while I marked the part to cut on the underside of the door.
#3
I got these tools from Home Depot to cut and sand the fiberglass using just my drill.

#4
Drill holes in the triangle to mount it on the Fiero, and get some large washers for the body to sit on.

#5
Winter arrived and the doors still werent on right, so the Fiero had to find a place in the garage.
#6
The goal became to get the rear, doors and front on the car so that they looked right with as few cuts to the fiberglass as possible. It isnt that hard to prop up the doors with jacks. You may have to drill holes for bolts in the triangle stands that support the rear.
#7
The gap between the door and the rear is what is most important.

#8
The rear clip needed to sit lower on the car so that it would line up with the door, so i cut some notches in where it sits on the roof. When you open the door you can see it is now following the contours of the sheet metal.
#9
I had to raise up the rear end to make the gap between the doors and the rear straight.
#10
When you take the key hole off the Fiero door, push it from the outside so it doesnt come apart and have springs fly everywhere.

#11
I've seen some nice side mirrors with blinkers that i'ld like to use. They were on a Mercedes. What other cars have them?

#12
The New Beetle convertible has blinkers on the side mirrors.
