Funding

There are several avenues we are looking into for funding this project, such as federal and state grants, and grants offered by private companies.  But currently, our main source of funding comes from fund-raisers and donations.  

We are accepting donations, big and small, for the building fund, and later on we hope to build a trust fund from which the income will be used to maintain the building and grounds and pay the staff.

Our first major fund-raiser is scheduled for October 7, 2000.  This will be our version of the Newlywed and Oldywed Game Show.  Next year, we are planning to sponsor smaller fund-raising activities, such as a teen dance featuring two local rock bands and a dance for the older citizens featuring a local oldies band.  Another major fund-raising project will be an auction of new and used items, featuring at least one large item (probably a vehicle).
