| Fender Elimination V1.0 |
| Well I decided to finally do come cutting to that fender. Ya I know I didn’t cut that much off but I figure v1 is just the start(maybe). And since there is no turning back I figured I would start with this. Anyway 1. Un bolt the turn signals. (might want to bungee them up and out of the way when you go to cut.) 2. Drill out the rivets holding the reflector mounts and remove. 3. Unscrew the license plate holder. 4. Rotate the license plate holder 180 deg (so it is upside down from the way it screws on stock). Line it up under the light frame and drill 2 new holes for it. Turns out flipping it over gives it the perfect angle for it’s new location. 5. Screw it back in place. Up to you if you use locktite. 6. Temporally mount the plate and draw your cutting lines. My lines went on a slant starting maybe 1 / 4” above the holes left from the reflector mounts and continued around the back just under the plate. 7. Cut along line. I used my sawzall. 8. Sand along the cut line to remove the frayed plastic. I used a palm sander. 9. Remove rubber license plate snubber from the lower section you cut. 10. Drill new hole behind the plate for the rubber snubber and put it in. 11. Mount plate. 12. Enjoy. |
