C.I.A. Patrols | |||||||||
When local residents and businesses first met with the community foot-patrol officers, there were many people who expressed some interest in a community patrol. The general description of a community patrol is a group of people who get together to walk through the neighbourhood to observe, report and respond to community needs. Patrols can take various forms with a variety of goals - from an official "neighbourhood safety patrol" complete with safety vests and radio to a church going on a "prayer walk" through the area. Families or neighbours walking around the neighbourhood together can have a positive effect as well. We are working with the Winnipeg Police Service to establish a local neighbourhood safety patrol. If you are interested in joining this patrol call Harry at 775-4929 and let me know if I should pass your name on to the patrol coordinator. |
