Minutes of Business Meeting
December 1, 1998

A calendar and sign in were passed around.
November minutes were approved.
Old Business:
Financial Policy: Policy was finalized. Brownie moved to approve. Lady Eleanor requested synopsis. Approved by show of 23 hands. Selection of at-large members of financial committee will be Thursday, January 21, 1999 at 7 PM in the Tumwater library meeting room.
Yule Feast: Need to find Lord Cian for music to be printed. Site will open 8AM. There are 117 reservations. A&S packets are available; competition begins at 10 AM. There are 7 adults and 3 children competing.
Court of Love: Crier and Looking Glass copy were sent.
Mayfaire: Lady Rhonwen and Lady Eleanor will be autocratting.
Honey War: It is coming together. A site walk through will happen in February. White and green fabric remnants are still needed.
Kingdom A&S 2000: HL Lavina will check on Millersylvania the first week in March.
Demonstrations:
Super Saturday: Gaelis and Finnghuala are taking charge.

New Business:
A&S Championship and Revel: Italian Renaissance theme to happen mid-September to mid-October.
Reports:
Their Excellencies: To create more Baronial award regalia will cost $154.52 was approved.
The Regional Curia notes:
• Regional Feast February 20, Kitsap County Fairgrounds, $5 site $10 feast
• Requested use of eric shields; approved.
• The Ermine Cross Bardic, March 27 & 28, Eagles’ Lodge in Dragonslaire, "Indoor Games" sponsored by Glymm Mere.
• His Excellency looking for those going to Estrella.
• Searching for a Crier party for December.

Chamberlain: Resigned and needs equipment and flammables picked up. Finnghuala is acting officer.
Chronicler: In Yakima. $15 for hardcopy subscription; $5 for virtual subscription.
Exchequer: Financial status was given. Lady Jamesina is acting officer.
Wittanhaven: Weekly meetings will continue in January. Mistress Regina is training fighters. January 16 is Winter Bardic. April 17 is Serjeant Trails. June 12 is Super Saturday.
Lists: Nothing to report.
Serjeantry: Next meeting is Dec. 8 at Lacey Library.
Beevairians: Vulcanfeldt was fun.
Archer: Things are moving along. Needs money to purchase prizes, $10 for dump run. Getting quotes for tape thingy.
Herald: HL Natasha will teach a class at Yule on court heraldry. Looking for a deputy.
Librarian: Survey for purchases at Yule.
Arts & Sciences: Big Bad Baron’s Beer Bread Bash in late March.
Chatelaine: Has Grete Boke. Email address kjdahle®aol.com
Marshal: Official announcement of leaving office.
Gold Key: Brought receipts for two containers of soap.
Constable: Nothing to report.
Chirurgeon: Not present. Need a replacement. HL Lavina is acting officer.
Waterbearer: Need a replacement.
Scribe: Working on scrolls for Yule.
Pages/Pied Piper: Yule will have activities.
Seneschal: Officers need to get a copy of their membership card and Driver’s License to Juliana. Discussed tenure for officers. Glymm Mere will support versus sponsor Indoor Games. Yule will be December 4, 1999. Next Regional Curia in March. Next meeting is informal at Red Robin, January 6, 1999 at 6 PM.

Correction to October minutes - HL Lavina will be senior autocrat for Yule,
Aistlann is the co-autocrat. Lady Etain’s name was spelled Elain.
Old Business:
Financial Policy: Next meeting to work on the draft Baronial financial policy is scheduled for Thursday, Nov 19 at the Tumwater Library at 7 PM.

Yule Feast: The Yule team will meet at Red Robin Nov. 4 at 6 PM. Feast is going well; there are 23 reservations and tickets are printed. Yule bears will be given out to children. Volunteers are needed to make tokens. Thanks HL Natasha for the computer work. Reservations are being taken by Fionnghuala.

Court of Love: Budget was approved. Site is Skookumchuck Grange in Tenino.

Mayfaire: Site to be Mason County Fairgrounds.
Honey War:Revised budget approved.
Michaelmas 1999: Lady Salia and Lady Rhonwen are the autocrats.

Kingdom A&S 2000: We are looking for a site that will hold 500 - 1000 people

with classroom space. HL Lavina is checking on the Tyee.

Demonstrations:

Demo at Lacey Library: It was a big success.

Super Saturday: Liaison needed.

Their Excellencies - Baron David has the kingdom cloaks, there is still work to be done on them. To create more Baronial award regalia will cost $154.52. The Regional Curia will be Nov. 22 in Tacoma; contact Baroness Catriona for more details. Their Excellencies need letters for awards.
Chamberlain - Lady Salia is a new deputy.
Chronicler - Report is in. Approved a $5 electronic subscription.
Exchequer - Not present.
Wittanhaven - Calendar dates are approved for Winter Bardic and Serjeants Trials.
Lists - Report is in.
Serjeantry - Cloak clasps will no longer be purchased. Use of heraldic cloaks will be encouraged. Next meeting is Dec. 8 at Lacey Library. Anyone interested in livery contact Baron Walter.
Beevairians - We fight. We die. We go to Vulcanfeldt.
Archer - Report is in. Baroness Catriona will open range on Nov. 8 if it is not pouring rain. Lord Gryphon needs marshals to open the range when he cannot be there. The Basic Archery Theory class is Nov. I6, 7 PM, at home of said Lord. Fletching and Bowstring classes will be after Yule.
Herald - HL Natasha will teach a class at Yule on court heraldry. She is hosting a Lion’s Blood meeting at her home, Nov. 21. Last year’s budget will suffice.
Librarian - Nothing to report.
Arts & Sciences - Championship will be at Yule and kingdom champion will be there.
Glymm Mere consort continues to meet monthly.
Glimmering Motions to practice dancing at fighter practice. Dance notes to be available at Yule.
Butterfries nothing to report.
Gamesmaster is checking prices for wood to make the prize for Mayfaire’s competition.
Hummingbards nothing to report.
Chatelaine - Read a letter from Lacey Library staff thanking all for the work and wonderfully entertaining demo.
Marshal - Not present.
Gold Key - Bought soap and laundered garb. Received more stuff. Last year’s budget will be fine.
Constable - Nothing to report.
Chirurgeon - Not present. Need a replacement.
Waterbearer - Need a replacement. Aislinn is having an open house this Saturday!
Scribe - Probably has some scrolls.
Pages/Pied Piper - Budget is in. Yule will have activities.
Seneschal - Officers need to get a copy of their membership card and Driver’s License to Julianna. Suggested a tenure for officers of two years with a one year extension; after the extension they would have to apply again. John of Brownwood is a new deputy.
For the good of the Barony:
Ethne is published. Wealth of the Barony banner still needs symbols. Salia moved to a complex with a club house suitable for ... a murder mystery and other things. Project G was displayed.
