Statement on the
Theory of Subconscious Symbols
And
Subconscious Symbol Set Theory

We have all heard of the theories of the great Dr. Carl Jung where we were acquainted with the subconscious symbol set of archetypes.

Who could forget those powerful interviews of Bill Moyers with Joseph Campbell "The Power of Myth" where we learn more about the set of subconscious symbols known as myth and mythology.

There are more contemporary used sets of subconscious symbols, those of astrology, numerology, letterology, the tarot, ect.

Subconscious symbols are used by the subconscious to communicate to various parts of itself and to our waking conscious.

The classical way the subconscious communicates to our waking conscious is through the set of subconscious symbols known as dreams.

Working with dream subconscious symbols is rather well known. A notebook is left beside the bed before sleeping and when one wakes up from the dream, the dreamer records the dream. Repeating objects and themes in the dream indicate a message from the subconscious the dreamer should be concerned with in a waking state.

Dreams are a way our subconscious communicates to us. There is two way communication with the subconscious. A set of subconscious symbols we use to communicate back to our subconscious is astrology.

It is not really known why the subconscious needs a set of subconscious symbols like astrology. Perhaps the subconscious uses sets of subconscious symbols to do that "invisible structure" of our lives.

The subconscious uses symbols to mold our behavior. The subconscious will attempt to use symbols as a basis of how we behave. If one is born the astrol sun sign of Leo, the subconscious will attempt to make the person behave like a Leo, even without their conscious knowledge of even knowing what a Leo is.

When the subconscious places a symbol into action in our conscious lives, it is said the subconscious symbol has been "activated". If a person is born Leo and people say they behave very Leo then we know the subconscious has activated the subconscious symbol of "Leo".

A way the subconscious activates a symbol is through repeated use of the symbol. For example a child who is told by their parents, "You will go up a become a great scientist." Since this statement is being repeated to the subconscious of the child, the subconscious could treat the statement as a symbol and activate it.

There are people who do not behave according to the symbols associated with their birth. If they born a Leo , they will not behave like a Leo . They use that as a reason for why Astrology can not work. The reason why a subconscious symbol or set of subconscious symbols will not work in a person is because of three words in psychology: "susceptibility to suggestion". For some reason, because of physiological structuring or psychological structuring of the subconscious, the subconscious will not accept the suggestion that because one is born a Leo; one should behave like a Leo.

For the biggest majority us human beings, we will behave according to some subconscious symbols. If we are born a Leo from Astrology or a Number 1 from Numerology, or a Letter A from Letterology, we will have to know if the symbol has been activated and what the symbol "means".

Since the subconscious will "do", "follow", "obey" subconscious symbols, we will always have

Astrology,
Numerology,
Letterology,
The Tarot,
Philosophy,
Religion,
E.S.P.,
Wicca,
Paganism,
Magik,

and that most arcane
set of subconscious symbols of all:

Science.
