Your Non-Doctor here already knows Jung called it the unconscious. The word has the conotation it is unaware. I preferr the more society used word subconscious.
Jung was working on a Theory of Subconscious Symbols and Subconscious Symbol Set Theory.
Archatypes, Mythology, Astrology, the Tarot, Numerology, Letterology, I-Ching are all subconscious symbol sets.
The subconscious will "gather" up information on what any symbol means and put the symbol into operation in the waking conscious life. The subconscious will do so without anyone knowing and having waking conscious awareness of it.
It is to be known what subconscious symbols are "up and running" in anyone's life.
